Peru Withdrawn As Host of FIFA U-17 World Cup 2023

Zurich: FIFA said that Peru has withdrawn the hosting rights to the FIFA U-17 World Cup 2023 following extensive discussions between FIFA and the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF).
In a statement at the FIFA website, the football governing body said that the tournament remains scheduled to take place from Nov. 10 to Dec. 2, 2023, but the Bureau of the FIFA Council will now designate a new host in due course.
“The move was made given the inability of the host country to fulfil its commitments to completing the infrastructure required to stage the tournament. Despite a very positive working relationship between FIFA and the FPF, it has been determined that there is now not sufficient time to secure the required investment and complete the necessary work with the Peruvian government ahead of the tournament start date,” the statement added.
“FIFA would like to express its thanks to the FPF for their efforts, and remains open to organizing a competition in Peru in the future,” the statement concluded.

الدوحة: أعلن الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم /فيفا/ سحب حق استضافة بطولة كأس العالم للناشئين تحت 17 عاما من بيرو والتي كان من المقرر أن تقام نهاية العام الجاري.
وذكر الاتحاد الدولي في بيان عبر موقعه الرسمي: “جاء هذه القرار بعد فشل الدولة المضيفة في الوفاء بالتزاماتها المتعلقة باستكمال البنية التحتية اللازمة لاستضافة البطولة، ورغم علاقة العمل الإيجابية جدا بين الاتحادين الدولي والبيروفي لكرة القدم، فقد تبين أنه لا يوجد وقت كاف لتأمين الاستثمار المطلوب وإنهاء العمل اللازم بالتنسيق مع حكومة بيرو قبل موعد انطلاق البطولة”.
ولفت /فيفا/ إلى أنه يأسف لهذا القرار الذي جاء بعد مناقشات مع الاتحاد البيروفي لكرة القدم، معربا في الوقت نفسه عن تطلعه لإقامة البطولة في موعدها المحدد سلفا بين العاشر من نوفمبر والثاني من ديسمبر المقبلين، لكن هذا الأمر لن يحسم إلا بعد الاستقرار على دولة جديدة لاستضافة المونديال.
