Tunisia receives first commercial flights after 3-month hiatus

After a three-month closure, Tunisia today welcomed the first commercial flights from Europe, in time for the start of the tourist season, which has been threatened by travel restrictions to curb a new wave of the new Coronavirus. Some 117 people arrived on a flight from Paris, mostly Tunisians living abroad, as well as French.
Nine flights are scheduled to arrive on Saturday, mostly from France and Italy, a transport ministry source told AFP.
It was not immediately known whether the people on the planes were stranded outside Tunisia or tourists, AFP said.
Travellers from countries deemed safe and classified on a green list — including Germany, China and Italy — are only entitled to come to Tunisia without any condition.
The source explained that those from orange-coloured countries, including France, Morocco and Spain, must submit a negative result of the virus test conducted less than 72 hours before departure.
Hotel residents are limited to group-guided tours, while others pledge 14 days of self-isolation at their place of residence.
Everyone can go out freely after six days, provided that a new negative test result is provided.
The source explained that countries not on any list are classified in red, such as Algeria and Russia, which are major tributaries of Tunisian tourism.
Only Tunisians are entitled to arrive from red-coloured countries, with a negative test result and a seven-day mandatory quarantine commitment at the hotel at their own expense, and then another check-up before departure. The authorities say that the measures may be amended in accordance with the evolution of the situation.
Tunisia has so far officially recorded 1,164 cases of Coronavirus, including 50 deaths from the epidemic, and in recent days only a few cases per day, almost all of them in mandatory quarantine centres. Tunisia closed its borders at the end of March.

بعد إغلاق دام 3 أشهر أستقبلت تونس اليوم أولى رحلات الطيران التجارية القادمة من أوروبا ، وذلك بالتزامن مع إنطلاق الموسم السياحي الذي أصبح مهددا بسبب فرض قيود على السفر للحد من موجة جديدة لفيروس كورونا المستجد. ووصل نحو 117 شخصًا كانوا على متن طائرة آتية من باريس، أغلبهم من التونسيين المقيمين في الخارج، بالإضافة إلى فرنسيين.
وذكر مصدر في وزارة النقل التونسية لوكالة فرانس برس أنه من المقرر وصول تسع رحلات السبت، معظمها من فرنسا وايطاليا.
وقالت الوكالة الفرنسية إنه لم يُعرف على الفور ما إذا كان الأشخاص الذين كانوا في الطائرات قد علقوا خارج تونس أو من بينهم سياح.
ويحق للمسافرين من دول تعتبر آمنة ومصنفة على قائمة خضراء – بينها ألمانيا والصين وإيطاليا – فقط المجيء إلى تونس بدون أي شرط.
وأوضح المصدر أنه يتعين على القادمين من الدول المصنفة باللون البرتقالي، وبينها فرنسا والمغرب وإسبانيا، تقديم نتيجة سلبية لفصح للفيروس تم إجراؤه قبل أقل من 72 ساعة من المغادرة.
ويقتصر خروج الأشخاص المقيمين في الفنادق على الرحلات الجماعية برفقة مرشدين، فيما يتعهد الآخرون خطيا العزل الذاتي لمدة 14 يومًا في مكان إقامتهم.
ويمكن للجميع الخروج بحرية بعد ستة أيام، شرط تقديم فحص سلبي جديد.
وأوضح المصدر أن الدول غير المدرجة على أي قائمة تعد مصنفة باللون الأحمر، مثل الجزائر وروسيا، وهما رافدان كبيران للسياحة التونسية.
ويحق للتونسيين فقط الوصول من البلدان المصنفة باللون الأحمر، مع تقديم فحص سلبي والتزام الحجر الصحي الإجباري لمدة سبعة أيام في الفندق على نفقتهم الخاصة، ثم إجراء فحص آخر قبل المغادرة. وتقول السلطات أن التدابير قد تعدل وفقا لتطور الوضع.
وكانت تونس قد سجلت رسميا حتى الآن 1164 إصابة بفيروس كورونا بينها 50 وفاة بالوباء، ولم تسجل خلال الأيام الأخيرة سوى إصابات قليلة يوميا، جميعها تقريبا في مراكز الحجر الإلزامي. وكانت تونس قد أغلقت حدودها في نهاية مارس .
