Government Communications Office statement regarding measures taken by the State of Qatar to combat Coronavirus (COVID-19)

بيان مكتب الاتصال الحكومي حول اتخاذ دولة قطر حزمة من القرارات لمكافحة فيروس كورونا

In continuation of the precautionary measures taken by the State of Qatar to prevent and contain the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19), new precautionary measures have been announced to safeguard the health and wellbeing of the public.

These measures include closing: cinemas, theatres, children’s play areas, gyms and wedding venues, including those in hotels. These measures are effective Friday 13 March, until further notice.

The Ministry of Public Health calls upon all citizens and residents to avoid crowded places and postpone holding social gatherings for the time being, for their own wellbeing and that of the community.

The Ministry also advises that elderly people, and people with chronic health conditions, avoid going out unless absolutely necessary, as they are more susceptible to infections.

The Ministry continues to take all necessary measures to limit the spread of the virus and calls upon all members of society to take care and apply simple, preventive measures to protect against infection.

This includes, washing your hands often or using hand sanitizers and keeping a distance of at least one metre (3 feet) from people who have symptoms of illness. You are also advised to use your sleeve to cover your nose and mouth when coughing and sneezing or use tissue paper and dispose of it appropriately.

The coronavirus (COVID-19) contact centre at the Ministry of Public Health is accessible around the clock for any reports or inquiries regarding the virus at the toll-free phone number (16000).

استكمالاً للجهود والاجراءات الاحترازية التي تتخذها دولة قطر للوقاية والحد من انتشار فيروس كورونا (كوفيد-19)، وحرصاً على حماية صحة وسلامة كافة أفراد المجتمع، تم اتخاذ عدداً من القرارات الاحترازية الجديدة وهي كالتالي: إغلاق صالات عرض السينما، والمسارح، ومناطق ألعاب الاطفال (المفتوحة والمغلقة)، والصالات الرياضية الخاصة، وصالات الافراح سواء في الفنادق او قاعات الافراح في دولة قطر اعتباراً من يوم غد الجمعة حتى إشعارٍ آخر. 

‎تحث وزارة الصحة العامة جميع المواطنين والمقيمين إلى تجنب التواجد في الأماكن العامة المزدحمة والتقليل من المناسبات الاجتماعية خلال هذه الفترة، وذلك حرصاً على سلامتهم وسلامة الاخرين، كما تحث كبار السن والأشخاص المصابين بحالات مرضية مزمنة تجنب الخروج الا للضرورة، لكونهم الأكثر عُرضة للإصابة بالعدوى.

‎تواصل الوزارة اتخاذ كافة الإجراءات اللازمة للحد من انتشار الفيروس، وتدعو كافة أفراد المجتمع لتوخي الحذر وتطبيق مجموعة من الإجراءات الوقائية البسيطة للحماية من العدوى بما في ذلك غسل اليدين باستمرار أو استخدام المطهرات اليدوية، وإبقاء مسافة لا تقل عن متر واحد (3 أقدام) عن الأشخاص الذين تظهر عليهم أعراض مرضية، واستعمال أكمام الملابس عند العطس أو السعال أو استخدام المناديل الورقية ثم التخلص منها على نحو مناسب في حاوية مغلقة.

‎كما أن مركز الاتصال الخاص بفيروس كورونا (كوفيد – 19) في وزارة الصحة العامة يتلقى أي بلاغات أو استفسارات تتعلق بالفيروس على مدار الساعة على رقم الاتصال المجاني (16000).
