Poetry event at QNL highlights life and work of Ghalib
حياة «ميرزا غالب وشعره» في أمسية ثقافية بمكتبة قطر الوطنية
In a lecture at Qatar National Library, visitors learned about the life and work of Mirza Ghalib, a prominent 19th century Urdu and Persian poet. The event organised recently in partnership with Bazm-e-Urdu Qatar, the country’s oldest Urdu literary organization, marked the 150th anniversary of Ghalib’s death.
Participants recited Ghalib’s famous ghazals and poems at the literary evening, which was part of the Library’s celebration of Qatar-India 2019 Year of Culture.
“The life of Mirza Ghalib is an example of how one should deal with difficulties in life. I have always been a great fan of him, and discussing his achievements with other attendees at the event was really insightful. It is great to see that the Library is organizing events for everyone in Qatar,” said Mohamad Rezwan, a participant at the event.
“I am glad to see the Library is recognising an important historical personality. Mirza Ghalib belonged to the entire region, and his work is now considered an important treasure. I always recite his poems and recount his achievements,” said Fayaz Osman, an admirer of Ghalib who attended the event.
نظمت مكتبة قطر الوطنية بالتعاون مع منظمة «بزم أردو»، المنظمة الوحيدة للآداب الأُردية في قطر، أمسية ثقافية في 15 فبراير الحالي حول حياة وقصائد ميرزا غالب، شاعر الأردية والفارسية المرموق الذي عاش في القرن التاسع عشر، بمناسبة مرور 150 عاماً على رحيله.
وخلال الأمسية التي تم تنظيمها ضمن احتفالات المكتبة بالعام الثقافي «الهند – قطر 2019»، استمع الحاضرون من رواد المكتبة إلى إلقاء بعض قصائد ميزرا غالب الشهيرة.
وقال محمد رضوان، أحد المشاركين في الأمسية: «كانت حياة ميرزا غالب نموذجاً للشخصية القوية المكافحة التي واجهت صعوبات الحياة بكل عزم. ولطالما كنت من عشاق شخصيته وشِعره، وقد تحدثت عن أعماله الشعرية مع الحاضرين الآخرين في الأمسية التي كانت زاخرة بالمعلومات. وتمثل هذه الفعالية إحدى النماذج للفعاليات التي تنظمها المكتبة لمختلف الفئات والجنسيات في قطر».
وقال فايز عثمان أحد المشاركين: «لقد أدهشني وأسعدني في نفس الوقت أن أجد المكتبة تُكرِّم شخصيات أدبية مُهمَّة مثل ميرزا غالب الذي ينتمي أدبه وشعره للمنطقة بأسرها، وتعد أعماله من علامات المشهد الأدبي في المنطقة والتراث الأدبي الأُردي».;
