Katara to Host Festival of Nubian Heritage

Doha: Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) is due to host the Nubian heritage festival today, in cooperation with the embassy of Sudan in the state of Qatar.
The two-day festival intends to spotlight the Nubian heritage in arts, music, song, fashion and poetry, specially that the Nubian heritage is considered a vital integral part of the heritage of several Arab and African people as it bears a unique cultural characteristic.
The first day of the festival will include a series of programs, including poetry and honoring outstanding students, in addition to a concert performed by a Nubian band, while Katara audience will stay tuned for package of various activities in the following evening day in building No. 15 to begin with a lecture on Nubian heritage followed by a Nubian theme and concert associated with an exhibition on Nubian heritage.
The festival comes within the framework of the foundation to extend the bridge of communications and openness on a broad range of cultural windows.

الدوحة: تستضيف المؤسسة العامة للحي الثقافي /كتارا/، اليوم /الإثنين/، مهرجان التراث النوبي، وذلك بالتعاون مع سفارة جمهورية السودان ورابطة أبناء المحس بدولة قطر.
ويهدف المهرجان، الذي يستمر يومين، إلى إلقاء الضوء على التراث النوبي في الفنون والموسيقى والغناء والأزياء والشعر، خاصة أن التراث النوبي يعتبر جزءا مهما من تراث عدد من الشعوب العربية والإفريقية، ويحمل خصوصية ثقافية فريدة.
وسيتضمن اليوم الأول للمهرجان مجموعة من الفقرات، من بينها فقرة شعرية وتكريم الطلاب المتفوقين، بالإضافة إلى عرض غنائي تقدمه فرقة نوبية، فيما سيكون جمهور كتارا على موعد في مساء اليوم الثاني مع باقة متنوعة من الأنشطة في المبنى 15 تبدأ بمحاضرة عن التراث النوبي، وعرض للزفة النوبية، وعرض غنائي، كما يصاحب فعاليات المهرجان معرض عن التراث النوبي.
ويأتي هذا المهرجان في إطار جهود المؤسسة العامة للحي الثقافي /كتارا/ لمد جسور التواصل بين الثقافات والشعوب، والانفتاح على مختلف النوافذ الثقافية، حيث قامت /كتارا/ في مناسبات سابقة بتنظيم فعاليات خاصة باليوم النوبي العالمي على المسرح المكشوف.
