Qatar’s monthly trade balance shows QR19bn surplus in October

Doha: In October 2018, the foreign merchandise trade balance of the State of Qatar, which represents the difference between total exports and imports, showed a surplus of QR19bn almost, an increase of about QR10.7bn or 129.1 percent compared to October 2017, and increased by nearly QR3.5bn or 22.9 percent compared to September 2018.

According to figures released by the Planning and Statistics Authority, in October 2018, the total exports of goods (including goods of domestic origin and re-exports) amounted to around QR28.8bn, showing an increase of 37.1 percent compared to October 2017, and increased by 7.3 percent compared to September 2018.

The imports of goods in October 2018 amounted to around QR9.8bn, a decrease of 22.9 percent over October 2017.

The year on year (October 2018 to October 2017) an increase in total exports was mainly due to higher exports of Petroleum gases and other gaseous hydrocarbons (LNG, condensates, propane, butane, etc) reaching approximately QR17.8bn in October 2018, an increase of 48.0 percent, Petroleum oils and oils from bituminous minerals (crude) reaching nearly QR4.6bn, increased by 10.5 percent, and increase in the Petroleum oils and oils from bituminous minerals (not crude) reaching QR2.4bn, increased by 71.0 percent. In October 2018, South Korea was at the top of the countries of destination of Qatars exports with close to QR4.9bn, a share of 17.0 percent of total exports, followed by Japan with almost QR4.7bn and a share of 16.2 percent, India with about QR3.7bn, a share of 13.0 percent.

During October 2018, the group of “Motor cars & other passenger vehicles” was at the top of the imported group of commodities, with QR0.5bn, showing a decrease of 15.1 percent compared to October 2017. In second place was” Turbojets, turbo propellers & other gas turbines, “parts thereof” with QR0.5bn, increase of 27.0 percent and in third place was Electrical apparatus for line telephony/telegraphy, telephone sets etc, “parts thereof” with QR0.3bn, showing an increase by 31.2 percent.

In October 2018, United State of America was the leading country of origin of Qatar’s imports with about QR1.6bn, a share of 16.4 percent of the imports, followed by China with QR1.2bn almost, a share of 12.8 percent, and United Kingdom with QR1.1bn, a share of 11.2 percent.

وأوضح بيان صدر عن جهاز التخطيط والإحصاء أن إجمالي الصادرات القطرية (التي تشمل الصادرات ذات المنشأ المحلي وإعادة التصدير) بلغت 28.8 مليار ريال تقريباً خلال أكتوبر الماضي بارتفاع نسبته %37.1، مقارنة بالفترة ذاتها من العام 2017، وبزيادة نسبتها %7.3 مقارنة بشهر سبتمبر هذا العام.

وانخفضت قيمة الواردات السلعية، بنسبة %22.9، في أكتوبر هذا العام، لتصل إلى نحو 9.8 مليار ريال مقارنة بالشهر المماثل من العام الماضي، فيما انخفضت بنسبة %13.8 مقارنة بشهر سبتمبر 2018.

وبالمقارنة مع شهر أكتوبر من العام الماضي؛ فقد ارتفعت قيمة صادرات «غازات النفط والهيدروكربونات الغازية الأخرى»، لتصل إلى نحو 17.8 مليار ريال على أساس سنوي، أي ما نسبته %48.0، فيما ارتفعت قيمة «زيوت نفط وزيوت مواد معدنية قارية خام» لتصل إلى ما يقارب 4.6 مليار ريال بنسبة زيادة قدرها %10.5.

كما ارتفعت خلال الفترة ذاتها قيمة صادرات «زيوت نفط وزيوت متحصل عليها من مواد معدنية قارية غير خام» لتصل إلى نحو 2.4 مليار ريال، أي بنسبة %71.

الصادرات

وعلى صعيد الصادرات حسب دول المقصد الرئيسية؛ فقد احتلت كوريا الجنوبية صدارة دول المقصد بالنسبة لصادرات دولة قطر خلال شهر أكتوبر هذا العام، وذلك بقيمة 4.9 مليار ريال تقريباً، أي ما نسبته %17 من إجمالي قيمة الصادرات القطرية، تليها اليابان بقيمة 4.7 مليار ريال تقريباً أي ما نسبته %16.2، ثم الهند بقيمة 3.7 مليار ريال تقريباً أي بنسبة %13.

وجاءت مجموعة «السيارات المصممة لنقل الأشخاص» على رأس قائمة الواردات السلعية، حيث بلغت قيمتها 0.5 مليار ريال تقريباً بانخفاض نسبته %15.1، مقارنة مع شهر أكتوبر من العام الماضي، تليها «عنفات نفاثة وعنفات دافعة، وعنفات غازية أخرى وأجزاؤها «بنحو 0.5 مليار ريال بارتفاع نسبته %27.0، ثم مجموعة «أجهزة كهربائية للهاتف (تليفون) أو البرق (تلغراف) السلكيين بما في ذلك الأجهزة الناقلة للشبكة، وأجزاؤها» بما يقارب 0.3 مليار ريال بزيادة %31.2.

وعلى صعيد الواردات؛ فقد احتلت الولايات المتحدة الأميركية صدارة دول المنشأ بالنسبة لواردات دولة قطر خلال شهر أكتوبر الماضي بقيمة 1.6 مليار ريال تقريباً، وبنسبة %16.4 من إجمالي قيمة الواردات السلعية، ثم الصين بقيمة 1.2 مليار ريال، أي ما نسبته %12.8، تليها المملكة المتحدة بقيمة 1.1 مليار ريال أي ما نسبته 11.2%.;
