QF Hosts D’reesha Performing Arts Festival During FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022

Doha: The second edition of the D’reesha Performing Arts Festival, taking place during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, is set to include a dedicated invention and innovation component, which through art, music, and astronomy will help bring science to life.
The STEAM-focused addition, titled D’reesha of Invention and Innovation, will allow visitors to conduct experiments and participate in hands-on workshops, all while learning about various scientists, scholars, and researchers from the region and their contributions to the world.
“QF’s D’reesha Performing Arts Festival reflects the belief that learning does not just take place within the four walls of the classroom, and that creative, innovative, and diverse forms of education can further empower children and young people,” said Ameera Al Aji, Community Arts Lead at QF.
“D’reesha of Invention and Innovation will encourage children and their families to engage with STEAM activities in a fun, meaningful, and tangible way, inspiring them to explore their curiosity while helping to fuel a lifelong pursuit of learning.
“And this year, as the country welcomes visitors from all over the globe for the World Cup, we will be able to showcase how Education City, through this festival, is a hub of knowledge that inspires learning, discovery, and exploration.” Sharing in this belief is sponsor ConocoPhillips Qatar. “Children are naturally curious and will always ask questions about the world around them, and we at ConocoPhillips Qatar recognize that progressive education in the local community can help our youth embrace this inquisitive side and make learning a habit,” said Todd Creeger, President of ConocoPhillips Qatar.
“As proud sponsors of D’reesha of Invention and Innovation, we are excited to support an educational initiative that promotes scientific discovery while also highlighting the rich history of research and scholarship in the Arab world, which is full of pioneers that helped shape modern ideas and technologies.” A number of local partners have also organized activities for D’reesha of Innovation and Invention. Texas A&M University at Qatar, a QF partner university, will showcase their popular robotic arena, while Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation (Kahramaa) has prepared theatrical performances, competitions, and scientific experiments on the topic of water quality, as well as workshops on electrical energy and the environment.
The Qatar Scientific Club will host an exhibition space dedicated to women in science, and CurioCITY will provide an interactive motion sensor wall combining modern technology with physical activity. Finally, the Museum of Illusions will run a play area for children, as well as host dilemma games and brain teasers for people of all ages, alongside its popular optical illusions displays.
QF’s D’reesha Performing Arts Festival will take place at Education City from 11 17 December under the theme of “Travel and Adventure”. Open to everyone, it will showcase a variety of performances in Arabic and English, from music and poetry to visual arts and theater.

الدوحة: أعلنت مؤسسة قطر للتربية والعلوم وتنمية المجتمع عن إقامة النسخة الثانية لـ “مهرجان دريشة للفنون الأدائية” خلال الفترة من 11 إلى 17 ديسمبر المقبل تحت عنوان “السفر والمغامرة” بالتزامن مع بطولة كأس العالم FIFA قطر 2022.
وستكون فعاليات المهرجان مفتوحة للجميع، وتتضمن مجموعة متنوعة من العروض باللغتين العربية والإنجليزية، تشمل الموسيقى، والشعر، والفنون البصرية، والمسرحية.
ومن المقرر أن تتضمن النسخة الثانية من المهرجان، قسمًا مخصصًا للاختراعات والابتكارات، تحت عنوان “دريشة الاختراعات والابتكارات”، وتمنح الزوار فرصة المشاركة في النقاشات والتجارب وورش العمل، واستكشاف الاختراعات والتعرف على مختلف العلماء من المنطقة العربية وإسهاماتهم القيمة في العالم.
وقالت أميرة العجي، رئيس قسم فنون المجتمع في مؤسسة قطر: “يعكس مهرجان مؤسسة قطر للفنون الأدائية رؤية مؤسسة قطر بأن التعلم يمتد إلى خارج الفصول الدراسية، وأن أشكال التعلم الإبداعية والمبتكرة والمتنوعة يمكن أن تكون وسيلة لتمكين الأطفال والشباب”.
وأضافت: “سيشجع قسم دريشة الاختراعات والابتكارات الأطفال وعائلاتهم على الانخراط في أنشطة العلوم والتكنولوجيا والهندسة والرياضيات بطريقة تفاعلية وممتعة، ما يحفزهم على الاستكشاف، وإشباع فضولهم، وإثراء تجاربهم، وتعزيز ثقافة التعلم مدى الحياة، فبينما تستعد البلاد لاستقبال آلاف المشجعين من مختلف الدول خلال بطولة كأس العالم، نسعى إلى الاستفادة من هذه الفرصة وتسليط الضوء على المدينة التعليمية كمركز للمعرفة والاستكشاف”.
كما تشارك شركة (كونوكو فيليبس قطر)، الراعي لقسم دريشة للابتكارات والاختراعات، مؤسسة قطر في رؤيتها حول التعلم، حيث يسلط القسم الذي ترعاه الضوء على العلماء والمبتكرين والباحثين من الوطن العربي، وقال تود كريجر، رئيس الشركة : “الأطفال بطبيعتهم لديهم الكثير من الفضول ويطرحون أسئلة حول العالم من حولهم”.
وينظم أيضًا عدد من الشركاء المحليين أنشطة متنوعة تندرج تحت قسم دريشة الاختراعات والابتكارات، حيث تستعرض جامعة /تكساس إي أند أم في قطر/، إحدى الجامعات الشريكة لمؤسسة قطر، الساحة الروبوتية، في حين أعدت المؤسسة العامة القطرية للكهرباء والماء “كهرماء” عروضًا مسرحية ومسابقات وتجارب علمية حول موضوع جودة المياه، بالإضافة إلى ورش عمل حول الطاقة الكهربائية والبيئة.
وسيستضيف “النادي العلمي القطري” معرضًا مخصصًا للنساء في مجال العلوم، وسيوفر مركز اللعب /كيريوسيتي/ جدار استشعار حركة تفاعلياً يجمع بين التكنولوجيا الحديثة والنشاط البدني، وأخيرًا، سيدير متحف الغموض منطقة لعب للأطفال، بالإضافة إلى استضافة مجموعة من الألعاب الذهنية للأفراد من جميع الأعمار، إلى جانب العروض البصرية الشهيرة.
