Washington: A recent study, published in the scientific journal Nature, found that cholesterol-lowering drugs reduce the coronavirus mortality rate by almost half.
The study, conducted by researchers in the United States and Sweden, said that coronavirus patients who were taking cholesterol-lowering drugs were less likely to die or be admitted to an intensive care unit due to the epidemic, according to Al-Hurra.
Cholesterol-lowering drugs are a class of drugs that are commonly prescribed to help lower cholesterol levels and are also used by diabetics and cardiovascular patients.
