Qatar Center for Voluntary Activities intensifies COVID-19 awareness efforts

Qatar Center for Voluntary Activities is working to intensify its awareness-raising activities and campaigns against the new coronavirus, through a number of activities that it offers by concluding cooperation agreements with various parties.
The Center continues its efforts in the belief in the necessity of community participation, seeking guidance for the correct methods and sound measures that must be taken to prevent this imminent danger and limit its spread, along with field contributions through its volunteers.
The Center is expected to launch a package of various activities during the holy month of Ramadan, as well as offer a range of interactive activities on social media platforms.
The Director of the Center, Moeedh Al Qahtani, stressed that dealing with the crisis took place from its inception, where a special team was formed to coordinate a number of campaigns, which became in two parallel lines, the first included awareness campaigns, and the second was through participation on the ground by volunteers.
He noted that the first start of the Center’s activity was awareness through social media accounts. Messages were sent through the existing database, which includes approximately 6,500 volunteers, as well as sending clips containing the latest news, information and developments of the situation, and an action plan was prepared to participate in the campaign in coordination with the Ministry of Public Health and a number of agencies involved in volunteering and distributing volunteers after training and participation in the centers and places that requested volunteer services.
Al Qahtani added that one of the most prominent awareness campaigns carried out by the center during the crisis of the spread of the coronavirus, was the participation of a number of volunteers in the awareness campaign about the risks of the emerging virus for foreign workers, which were carried out by the Qatar Center for Cultural and Heritage events under the supervision of the Ministry of Culture and Sports and in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior. It was carried out through cars that roamed all areas in partnership with volunteers.
As for the safety measures taken by the Center in its working, Al Qahtani said that since the beginning of the pandemic, the number of employees had been reduced to 20% compared to 80% working remotely, as the Internet was used during meetings and interviews in addition to examining employees and providing all tools for sterilization under the supervision of the crisis team at the Qatar Center for Voluntary Activities.

يعكف مركز قطر للعمل التطوعي في الدوحة ، على تكثيف انشطته وحملاته التوعوية ضد فيروس كورونا المستجد ” كوفيد-19 ” ، وذلك عبر عدد من الفعاليات التي يقدمها من خلال ابرامه لاتفاقيات تعاون مع جهات مختلفة .
ويواصل المركز جهوده إيماناً بضرورة المشاركة المجتمعية، ساعياً إلى الإرشاد للطرق الصحيحة والإجراءات السليمة التي يجب اتخاذها للوقاية من هذا الخطر الداهم والحد من انتشاره، إلى جانب المشاركات الميدانية من خلال متطوعيه، ومن المنتظر إطلاق المركز لحزمة من الانشطة المتنوعة خلال شهر رمضان المبارك، فضلاً عن تقديم مجموعة من الأنشطة التفاعلية عبر منصات التواصل الاجتماعي.
وأكد السيد معيض القحطاني مدير المركز ، أن التعامل مع الأزمة تم منذ بدايتها، حيث تشكيل فريق خاص بتنسيق عدد من الحملات والتي صارت في خطين متوازيين، الأول تضمن الحملات التوعوية، والثاني كان من خلال المشاركة على الأرض عن طريق المتطوعين، منوها إلى أن الإنطلاقة الأولى لنشاط المركز كانت عن طريق التوعية عبر حسابات التواصل الاجتماعي حيث تم ارسال رسائل من خلال قاعدة البيانات الموجودة والتي تشمل ما يقارب 6500 متطوع، فضلاً عن ارسال مقاطع تتضمن احدث الأخبار والمعلومات وتطورات الأوضاع، كما تم اعداد خطة عمل للمشاركة في الحملة الوطنية لأجل قطر بالتنسيق مع وزارة الصحة وعدد من الجهات الخاصة بالعمل التطوعي وتوزيع المتطوعين بعد القيام بتدريبهم ومشاركتهم في المراكز والاماكن التي طلبت خدمات المتطوعين.
وأوضح القحطاني أن من أبرز الحملات التوعوية التي قام بها المركز خلال أزمة انتشار فيروس كورونا ، كانت مشاركة عدد من المتطوعين في الحملة التوعوية بمخاطر الفيروس المستجد للعمالة الوافدة، والتي قام بها مركز قطر للفعاليات الثقافية والتراثية تحت اشراف وزارة الثقافة والرياضة وبالتعاون مع وزارة الداخلية، وذلك من خلال السيارات التي تجوب جميع المناطق بالمشاركة مع المتطوعين.
ولفت إلى أن المركز قد قام منذ بداية الازمة بإطلاق حملة توعوية تضمنت العمل على نشر البوسترات التوعوية والتي تحمل عبارات تساهم في نشر ثقافة التعامل مع خطر كورونا. مشيراً إلى أن المركز قام بالعديد من المساهمات في التوعية منذ بدايات الازمة من ضمنها شن حملة للتشجيع على استخدام السجادة الخاصة أثناء أداء الصلاة في المسجد، للمساهمة في الحد من انتشار الفيروس، وذلك في إطار حرصه منذ البداية على تجنب الوقوع في المخاطر الصحية، وذلك قبل الاجراءات التي تم اتخذتها فيما بعد الجهات المعنية والخاصة بالصلاة في البيوت .
أما عن إجراءات السلامة والتدابير التي اتخذها المركز في نطاقه الداخلي، فأوضح السيد عائض القحطاني أنه منذ بداية الأمر قد تم تقليص عدد العاملين إلى 20 % مقابل 80% يعملون عن بعد، حيث تم استخدام الاون لاين خلال الاجتماعات والمقابلات بالإضافة إلى فحص الموظفين وتوفير جميع ادوات التعقيم تحت اشراف الفريق الخاص بالأزمات في مركز قطر للعمل التطوعي.
