Amir greets Covid-19 frontline workers
صاحب السمو يحيي العاملين في الخطوط الأمامية لمكافحة كوفيد – ١٩
QNA – Doha:
The Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani gave a speech on Monday to mark the completion of Education City Stadium, the third venue for the World Cup 2022, during which His Highness saluted the champions of the times of medical staff and all the staff of the teams working on the frontline against the COVID-19 pandemic, during an online celebration broadcast by beIN Sports, that carried out all the precautionary measures adopted by the state as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic.
His Highness’ speech:
“In the Name of God, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate
Dear friends across the world,
As we celebrate the completion of Education City Stadium, the third venue for the World Cup 2022, we greet the champions of these times: the medical staff and all the staff of the teams working on the frontline against the Covid-19 pandemic who have saved the lives of many people and brought back hope to them. We thank you and we support you.
As the world begins to open up, it is through your courage, dedication and sincerity that we truly believe in better days to come, the days when we will enjoy together watching the stars of the game in our stadiums.
Qatar is looking forward, and more excited and enthusiastic than ever, to welcome guests from all over the world for an exceptional World Cup.
Thank you very much.”
FIFA President HE Gianni Infantino also participated in the celebration and expressed his thanks to HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani for the opportunity to participate in celebrating the milestone.
“While announcing the completion of another stadium hosting the FIFA World Cup 2022, we pay a very special tribute to those who suffered, fought and are still fighting against the covid19 pandemic giving us a remarkable example of resilience during such a difficult moment,” His Excellency said before adding “We mustnt forget…Health comes first.”
He noted that it was better to look forward to better times in some parts of the world, while other parts have to be extremely careful, stay strong and united.
“The new stadium in Education City reminds us that football will return, and with more passion than ever. When time comes, we will be sharing the stands with family and friends…In this beautiful and modern stadium, we will come together to celebrate the FIFA World Cup in 2022…Until then, stay healthy, strong and positive,” he added.

ألقى حضرة صاحب السمو الشيخ تميم بن حمد آل ثاني أمير البلاد المفدى، مساء اليوم، كلمة بمناسبة الاحتفال بجاهزية استاد المدينة التعليمية، ثالث استادات بطولة كأس العالم FIFA قطر 2022، حيا فيها سموه أبطال العصر من أفراد الطواقم الطبية والفرق العاملة في الخطوط الأمامية لمكافحة وباء (كوفيد – 19) في حفل افتراضي بث على قنوات بي إن سبورتس / beIN SPORTS / ، مراعاة للإجراءات الاحترازية المتبعة في الدولة بسبب جائحة كورونا.

أصدقاءنا الأعزاء في مختلف أنحاء العالم،
أود ونحن نحتفل بجاهزية استاد المدينة التعليمية ثالث ملاعب بطولة كأس العالم 2022 أن أحيي أبطال هذا العصر من أفراد الطواقم الطبية والفرق العاملة في الخطوط الأمامية لمكافحة وباء (كوفيد-19) الذين أنقذوا حياة الكثيرين وأعادوا لهم الأمل.
نشكركم جميعاً، ولكم منا الدعم والتقدير.
وبينما يواصل العالم خطواته نحو عودة الحياة إلى طبيعتها، فإننا على يقين أن الأيام القادمة ستكون أفضل بإذن الله، بفضل شجاعتكم وتفانيكم وإخلاصكم. وستأتي أيام نستمتع فيها معاً بمشاهدة نجوم اللعبة على أراضي ملاعبنا.
تتطلع قطر بكل شغف وحماس أكثر من أي وقت مضى للترحيب بضيوفها من كافة أنحاء العالم في نسخة استثنائية من بطولة كأس العالم.

كما شارك سعادة السيد جياني إنفانتينو رئيس الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم (فيفا) بكلمة خلال الحفل الافتراضي، أعرب فيها عن شكره لحضرة صاحب السمو الشيخ تميم بن حمد آل ثاني أمير البلاد المفدى على منحه فرصة المشاركة في هذا الإنجاز.
وقال سعادته إنه “تزامنا مع الإعلان عن جاهزية استاد آخر من الاستادات التي ستستضيف كأس العالم FIFA 2022، نتقدم بتحية خاصة لكل الذين عانوا، وقاوموا، وما زالوا يجابهون جائحة (كوفيد – 19) مقدمين لنا مثالا رائعا على القدرة على الصمود خلال هذه الفترة العصيبة”، مضيفا “يجب أن لا ننسى.. الصحة قبل كل شيء”.
وأشار إلى أنه في بعض أنحاء العالم، أصبح من الممكن التطلع إلى مستقبل أفضل. وفي أنحاء أخرى، لا يزال يتعين علينا توخي الحذر الشديد والمحافظة على قوتنا ووحدتنا.
وتابع: “يذكرنا الاستاد الجديد في المدينة التعليمية بأن كرة القدم ستعود بشغف أكبر من أي وقت مضى. عندما يحين الوقت، سنجلس على المدرجات مع العائلة والأصدقاء.. سنلتقي في هذا الاستاد الجميل والعصري للاحتفال بكأس العالم FIFA عام 2022.. إلى أن يحين ذلك الوقت، حافظوا على صحتكم، وابقوا أقوياء ومتفائلين”.
