Qatari adventurer succeeds in raising Qatari flag over the world’s 12th highest peak

Doha: Qatari climber Fahad Abdul Rahman Badar has raised Qatar’s flag high above the 8,047-meter-high Summit of Broad Peak in northern Pakistan, one of the Himalayas’ peaks, and ranks 12th among the highest mountain peaks in the world.
“Thank God, I was honored to raise the Flag of Qatar above the top of Broad Peak, the 12th summit in the world at an altitude of 8,047 meters and the third of the 8,000-meter peaks I reach.” Fahad Badar said on his Twitter account.
In detail, the Qatari adventurer explained that this summit is one of the most difficult challenges because of its remote location, the nature of its snow-heavy climate, and the size of its huge summit, which requires additional effort to reach the real summit.
Fahad Badar revealed the incidents he and his fellow climbers suffered during the descent, saying: “There were several events, which led to the death of one climber and the rescue of others, as a result of which I ran out of extra oxygen, spent a night at the top amid the atmosphere of snow and extreme cold, and suffered an injury to my fingers. Thanks for everyone for checking on me and thank God for health and well-being.”
Fahad AbdulRahman Badar, one of the most famous Arab climbers seeking adventure and suspense among the top of the mountain peaks, and the leading executive banker, is the first Arab adventurer to achieve the summits of “Everest” and “Lotsi” on a single expedition by overcoming this challenge and reaching the summit of Ama Dablam on January 14, 2021.

الدوحة: نجح المتسلق القطري فهد عبدالرحمن بادار، في رفع علم قطر عالياً، فوق قمة جبل برود بيك بارتفاع (8047 متراً) في شمال باكستان، إحدى قمم الهملايا، وتأتي في المرتبة 12 ضمن أعلى قمم جبلية في العالم.
وقال فهد بادار– على حسابه بموقع تويتر – “الحمدلله، تشرفت برفع علم قطر فوق قمة جبل برود بيك، القمة رقم 12على مستوى العالم بارتفاع 8047 متر. وثالث قمة من قمم 8000 متر التي أصل إليها”.
وفي التفاصيل، أوضح المغامر القطري أن هذه القمة تعتبر واحدة من أصعب التحديات بسبب موقعها النائي، وطبيعة مناخها الغزير بالثلوج، وحجم قمتها الضخم مما يتطلب جهداً إضافياً للوصول إلى القمة الحقيقية .
وكشف فهد بادار عن الحوادث التي تعرض لها وزملائه المتسلقين خلال النزول، قائلاً:”كانت هناك أحداث عدة، أدت لوفاة أحد المتسلقين وإنقاذ آخرين، نتيجة لذلك نفذ الأوكسجين الإضافي لدي، وقضيت ليلة في القمة وسط أجواء من الثلوج والبرودة الشديدة، وتعرضت لإصابة في أصابع يدي. شكراً للجميع على السؤال والحمدلله على الصحه والعافية”.
فهد عبدالرحمن بادار، يعد من أشهر المتسلقين العرب الباحثين عن المغامرة والتشويق بين أعالي قمم الجبال، والمصرفي التنفيذي الرائد، وهو المغامر العربي الأول الذي تمكن من إحراز قمتي “إفرست” و”لوتسي” في رحلة استكشافية واحدة بتخطي هذا التحدي والوصول إلى قمة آما دابلام في 14 يناير 2021.
