Mada Center launches ATP Certification for Arabic speakers

DOHA: Mada Center yesterday announced the launch of the Arabic version of Assistive Technology Professionals (ATP) test from Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America (RESNA), which is a first of its kind global initiative by the centre.

The announcement was made at a press conference, which was followed by a workshop for 46 assistive technology superusers, who were trained and certified by Mada, from the sectors of education, health care and community, to inform them about the requirements needed to get this certification.

Maha Al Mansouri, Mada Center’s CEO said: “We at Mada Center are privileged to launch this initiative that enhances the ecosystem we’ve always striven to enhance through our strategy that focuses on expanding abilities in the field of assistive technology for people with disabilities.”

“This initiative, and for the first time ever, will provide the opportunity for Arabic-speaking assistive technology professionals to receive this global certificate from this internationally acclaimed organisation to expand abilities in the field of assistive technology.”

Mada Center has invested a lot of resources to launch the Arabic version of the ATP test for Arab professionals, which has, until now, been only available in English. A team of Mada experts worked tirelessly in the course of an entire year and according to solid scientific foundations to Arabise and review the questions of this international test.

As such, we are delighted to partner with Mada Center on the Arabic translation of the Assistive Technology Professional Exam (ATP). The support we received from Mada Center was key to realising this translation project.”

أعلن مركز «مدى»، أمس، عن إطلاق النسخة العربية من اختبار «ATP» لمتخصصي التكنولوجيا المساعدة، المعتمد من جمعية هندسة إعادة التأهيل والتكنولوجيا المساعدة في أميركا الشمالية (RESNA)، والذي عُرّب للمرة الأولى على مستوى العالم بمبادرة من قبل المركز.

وبعد مؤتمر صحافي عُقد لهذه الغاية، عُقدت ورشة عمل حضرها 46 مستخدماً من المستخدمين المتميزين للتكنولوجيا المساعدة (Super Users) الذين تم تأهيلهم واعتمادهم من مركز مدى، متمثلين في قطاعات التعليم، والصحة، والمجتمع، للاطلاع والتعرف على جميع التفاصيل والمتطلبات اللازمة للحصول على هذه الشهادة.

وبهذه المناسبة، صرّحت السيدة مها المنصوري، الرئيس التنفيذي للمركز: «يسرّنا في مركز مدى أن نطلق هذه المبادرة المتميزة، والتي تعزز النظام البيئي الذي حرص المركز على تعزيزه، من خلال استراتيجيتنا التي تركز على بناء القدرات في مجال التكنولوجيا المساعدة للأشخاص ذوي الإعاقة، لنتيح الفرصة -وللمرة الأولى- للمختصين الناطقين باللغة العربية للحصول على هذه الشهادة الدولية المعتمدة من تلك المؤسسة الرائدة عالمياً، من أجل بناء القدرات في مجال التكنولوجيا المساعدة. ومن خلال هذه المبادرة الأولى من نوعها على مستوى المنطقة، نهدف إلى توفير الخبرات اللازمة لتمكين الأشخاص ذوي الإعاقة في العالم العربي بشكل أفضل، عن طريق التكنولوجيا المساعدة والنظام البيئي المساند لها».

خبراء

وقام «مدى» بالاستثمار لإطلاق النسخة العربية من اختبار «ATP» للمختصين العرب، والذي جرت العادة على تقديمه باللغة الإنجليزية فقط، حيث عمل فريق الخبراء من مركز مدى بجد ونشاط على مدار عام كامل ووفق أسس علمية متينة على تعريب ومراجعة أسئلة هذا الاختبار الدولي وتدقيق مادته العلمية.

يُذكر أنه بالإضافة إلى الحصول على الاعتماد من مؤسسة معترف بها عالمياً، فإن الذين يجتازون الاختبار بنجاح سيكونون في طليعة العاملين في هذا المجال.;
