Qatar Charity creates awareness on importance of water through photography

DOHA: Qatar Charity (QC) has organised two photography workshops separately for male and female participants to teach them the basics of photography and train them practically on how to take pictures properly.

The workshops were organised as part of the events that fall within QC’s “Soqya” campaign, with the aim to show the beauty of nature available due to water through photos, in addition to raise awareness about the importance of water, said a release.

Mohammed Al Yafie, an expert gave presentations on the basics of photography and trained them how to take photos practically. Then, the participants took many pictures that reflect the content of the “Soqya” campaign.

During the workshops, the participants also came to know more about the activities and events organised by Qatar Charity in Qatar.The photos taken by participants during their training sessions have been collected and will be presented at the closing ceremony of the program at the end of this month.

Earlier, Qatar Charity (QC) has distributed water bottles to some 2,300 workers from Boom Construction Company as part of the implementation of its projects entitled “Soqya Al Ummal”, which literally means giving water to workers.

The water distribution was made in a ceremony, which was attended by officials from the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs and Aster Medical Centre. Also, volunteers from “O Type” and “Qatari Awareness” initiatives participated in the distribution of water bottles to works

Also, Qatar Charity has organized many workshops as part of ‘Soqya’ campaign for children to educate them about the importance of water. Soqya Al-Ummal’ aims at serving labourers through distributing cold water and juices bottles to them in their workplaces in order to protect them from the summer heat, and enhancing contact between benefactors and this segment of the local community via Qatar Charity.

It also aims at involving local institutions, youth, university and school students in such charitable work to appreciate the continuous efforts and outstanding roles played by workers in building the country and in its urban and industrial development.

نظمت «قطر الخيرية» جولات تصوير لتدريب المشاركين في فعاليات حملة «سقيا»، من الجنسين، على التقاط صور ضوئية وتعليمهم أساسيات التصوير الضوئي، بهدف عرض الجماليات التي تنتج في الطبيعة بسبب توفر الماء، إضافة إلى التوعية بأهمية المحافظة على المياه.

أقامت «قطر الخيرية» ورشة تصوير خاصة بالنساء، حيث عرّف المصور المحترف محمد اليافعي المشاركات على أساسيات التصوير الضوئي، ثم قمن بالتطبيق العملي والتقاط صور عديدة تعبر عن مضمون «حملة سقيا»، كما أقامت الجمعية ورشة تصوير أخرى خاصة بالرجال لتعريفهم على أساسيات التصوير وتدريبهم على التقاط الصور بعدسات الكاميرا الرقمية، وذلك في إطار فعاليات حملة «سقيا».

وتخللت ورش التصوير تعريف المشاركين والمشاركات على الأنشطة والفعاليات التي تنفذها «قطر الخيرية» محلياً، من أجل حثهم على المساهمة في نشر برامج الجمعية عبر وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي.

الجدير بالذكر أن الصور التي قام المشاركون من الرجال والنساء بالتقاطها أثناء تدريبهم في جولات التصوير، تم جمعها وسيتم عرضها في الحفل الختامي للبرنامج نهاية الشهر الحالي.

وأعرب المشاركون عن سعادتهم بالحضور لجولات التصوير، بحيث إنها أتاحت لهم الفرصة لتعلم أساسيات التصوير ومعرفة أهمية المحافظة على المياه التي تعتبر ركناً أساسياً لبقاء المخلوقات على الأرض بما فيها الإنسان.

وكانت «قطر الخيرية» قامت في الشهر الماضي بتوزيع عبوات المياه على حوالي 2300 عامل من عمال شركة بوم للإنشاءات في إطار تواصل فعاليات «سقيا العمال»، وذلك بحضور مسؤولين من وزارة التنمية الإدارية والعمل والشؤون الاجتماعية، ومركز أستر الطبي، وبمشاركة شباب متطوعين من مبادرات «أو تايب» و»التوعية القطرية».

ورش تفاعلية

أقامت «قطر الخيرية» في وقت سابق ورشاً تفاعلية للأطفال ضمن ركن «أطفال سقيا» لتعليمهم وتوعيتهم بأهمية رعاية الطيور وتوفير مصدر لشرب الماء لها خاصة في فصل الصيف، حيث تعلم الأطفال خلال هذه الورش صناعات أواني ومجسمات لطيور، وتلوين الرسومات، وشاركوا في المسابقات الجماعية التي تهدف إلى توعية الأطفال بأهمية المياه وكيفية المحافظة عليها.

زيادة لحمة التواصل

يهدف مشروع «السقيا» إلى تقديم مشاريع نوعية تخدم المجتمع المحلي وتوزيع المياه على العمال في أماكن عملهم من أجل الحفاظ على صحتهم من الجفاف، وزيادة لحمة التواصل بين أهل الخير وبين هذه الفئة، كما يهدف أيضاً إلى إشراك المؤسسات والشباب وطلاب الجامعات والمدارس في العمل الخيري، من خلال إقامة الفعاليات وتنظيم الورش ذات الصلة.;
