Revival of seasonal occupations associated with camping and hunting

Doha: Seasonal occupations related to the winter camping season and hunting are recovering during this period of the year, as the demand for firewood, grills, tents and other camping supplies increases. As well as birds used by falcon hunters to train and rehabilitate their falcons for hunting, and home-made foods and drinks that visitors to wilderness areas and camp owners are keen to purchase from vendors spread on the external roads near the wilderness areas.

Al-Raya monitored many of the practitioners of these seasonal professions displaying their goods on Abu Samra Road, which witnesses the passage of falconers, owners of winter camps, owners of farms, wildlife pioneers and nature lovers, in which traders are keen to provide all the supplies that land-goers need to make it easier for them and spare them the long distances of travel just to get what they want.

In statements to Al-Raya, a number of citizens demanded the necessity of working to establish a seasonal market on Abu Samra Road to provide camping and hunting supplies instead of traveling long distances to Doha to buy those needs.

The market will include bird traders, firewood sellers, tents and camping supplies, as well as ready-to-eat food vendors in a gated site where citizens can drive around with their vehicles to buy their needs.

الدوحة: تشهدُ المهنُ الموسميّةُ المرتبطةُ بموسم التخييم الشتوي والمقناص انتعاشًا في هذه الفترة من العام، حيث يزيدُ الإقبال حاليًا على شراء الحطب والشوايات والخيام وغيرها من مُستلزمات التخييم وكذلك على الطيور التي يستخدمها صيّادو الصقور لتدريب وتأهيل صقورهم على الصيد، فضلًا عن الأطعمة والمشروبات المنزليّة الجاهزة التي يحرص على شرائها زوّارُ المناطق البرية وأصحاب المخيمات من البائعين المنتشرين على الطرق الخارجيّة بالقرب من المناطق البريّة.

ورصدت الراية عرضَ العديد من أصحاب تلك المهن الموسميّة بضائعَهم على طريق أبو سمرة الذي يشهد مرور الصقّارين وأصحاب المخيمات الشتوية وأصحاب العزب، فضلًا عن روّاد المناطق البرية ومحبّي الطبيعة، حيث يحرص التجارُ على توفير جميع المستلزمات التي يحتاجها مُرتادو البرّ للتيسير على المُواطنين وتجنيبهم قطعَ مسافات طويلة للحصول على ما يريدونه.

وطالب عددٌ من المواطنين، في تصريحات لـ الراية، بضرورة العمل على إنشاء سوق موسمي على طريق أبو سمرة لتوفير مستلزمات التخييم والمقناص بدلًا من قطعهم مسافات طويلة إلى الدوحة لشراء تلك الاحتياجات، على أن يضمّ السوق تجارًا للطيور وبائعي الحطب والخيام ومُستلزمات التخييم، وأيضًا بائعي الأطعمة الجاهزة في موقع مسوّر يستطيع المُواطنون التجوّل فيه بمركباتهم لشراء احتياجاتهم.
