Optimism brings distant wishes closer

Other problems with the availability of the vaccine

الدوحة: كورونا الذي يرانا من حيث لا نراه، شغل العالم وعرقل حيويته، وأعاق كثيرًا مِن أنشطته، هل يرجع خائبًا مدحورًا إلى عالم النسيان، ويدع الحياة تستردّ عافيتها بعد سقم طويل، وتعود الناس لممارسة حياتها الطبيعية من جديد؟ الجميع يقرن انتهاء الأزمة بتوفر اللقاح، وهذا مضمار تخوض فيه مئات الشركات سباقًا سريعًا.
بعد نفيه للاتهامات التي وُجّهت إليه ووضعت اسمه في سياق “نظرية المؤامرة” وصناعة فيروس كورونا المستجد، خرج الملياردير الأمريكي، المؤسس لشركة “مايكروسوفت” بيل غيتس، بنظرة تفاؤلية لبلاده، في لقاء على شاشة “فوكس نيوز”، وقال: “الولايات المتحدة تحديدًا، وهي الدولة الأكثر تضررًّا من الوباء ستتمكّن من استعادة شكل الحياة الطبيعي، مع حلول الصيف المقبل.. وأنا متفائل، أنّ فايروس كورونا لن يدوم إلى الأبد”.
ويرى البعض أنّ الحلّ يكمن في تشكّل “مناعة القطيع” في لقاء لمجلة “بوليتيكو” قال مستشار باراك أوباما السابق، ورئيس قسم الأخلاقيات الطبيّة والسياسة الصحيّة -في جامعة بنسلفانيا-: “أظنّ أنّ الحياة ستعود إلى طبيتعها، في نوفمبر- تشرين الثاني 2021.. وقتها ستكون مناعة القطيع قد تشكّلت، وأعداد الإصابات ستنخفض، لأن الفايروس لن يعود قادرًا على الانتشار، على نطاق واسع”.
التفاؤل يُقرِّب الأماني البعيدة
قالت الدكتورة نيتيكا بانت باي، أستاذة علم الأوبئة الإكلينيكية، في جامعة ماكغيل، لقناة “سي بي سي” الكندية: إنّ الحياة ستعود إلى طبيعتها، في ديسمبر – كانون الأول 2020.. لكنّي اليوم أصلي كي نتمكّن من ذلك بحلول مارس – آذار 2021. آمل أن يكون لقاح “كوفيد 19″ متاحًا بحلول أوائل عام 2021 وهذه أمنية بعيدة، لكنّني سأظلُّ متفائلة”.
في حين يرى بعض الخبراء أنّ إتاحة اللقاح في العالم، لا يعني أن الجميع سيحصل عليه في شهر واحد أو بضعة شهور، ففي لقاء على قناة “بي بي سي” قال البروفيسور نيلاي شاه، رئيس قسم الهندسة الكيميائية في “إمبريال كولدج” في لندن: “حتّى لو أصبح اللقاح متاحًا هذا العام، فهذا لا يعني أنه خلال شهر واحد، سيحصل الجميع على التطعيم، نحن نتحدّث عن ستة أشهر وتسعة أشهر.. أو سنة على الأقل”.
في المقابل، يرجّح بعض العلماء، أنّ الجائحة ستطول لسنوات، حسب تصريح جاء لعالِمة الأوبئة والفيروسات، أنجيلا راسموسن، لمجلة “بوليتيكو” وقالت: لا أرى نهاية بتاريخ محدّد لهذا الوباء، فلا أظنّ أنّ يومًا سيأتي ونقول هذا هو اليوم الذي انتهى فيه فايروس كورونا، بل أرى أنها عملية ستستمر لفترة طويلة، وربّما سنوات”.
من جانبه، يصوّر أستاذ تكنولوجيا المعلومات والإدارة في ويليسي، أنّ السياسيين يخدعون أنفسهم وأتباعهم بالعودة في وقت قريب إلى الحياة الطبيعية، حيث قال: “السياسيّون الذين يتظاهرون بأنّ الوضع سيعود إلى طبيعته قريبًا يخدعون أنفسهم وأتباعهم.. كوفيد 19 لن ينتهي قريبًا”. بحسب موقع “سي إن إن”.
أمّا كبير خبراء الأمراض المعدية، في الولايات المتّحدة الأمريكية، أنطونيو فاوتشي، قال: “إذا كنّا نتحدّث عن العودة للحياة الطبيعية، والتي تجسّد ما كنّا نعيشه قبل كورونا، ربّما يكون ذلك في عام 2021, وربّما حتى نهاية 2021.
مشاكل أخرى بوجود اللقاح
ترى الأستاذة المساعدة في مادة اقتصاديات الصحة في جامعة ماكغيل، أنّه: “بمجرّد وجود لقاح سنواجه مشكلة أخرى في تأمينه لكلّ سكان العالم، لذلك لا أعتقد أنّنا سنعود لعيش حياتنا كما كنّا نفعل في السابق لفترة طويلة”.
عودة الناس إلى ما كانوا عليه قبل كورونا، تحتمل مخاطر التفشي وخروج الوضع عن السيطرة.. والبحث عن اللقاح مهمة صعبة، ولكن نزيف الاقتصاد العالمي، وتعطّل عجلة الحياة تثقل كاهل أعظم اقتصادات العالم.. الجميع يعيش رغبة مصحوبة بالخوف والحذر، فهل نشهد عودة الحياة إلى سيرتها الأولى؟
