Lekhwiya patrols help curb Covid-19 spread in Qatar

The Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) is taking part in the ongoing efforts to prevent the spread of Covid-19 by implementing a slew of measures across the country.
The efforts of Lekhwiya have been highlighted by a video tweeted by the Ministry of Interior (MoI).
Among the steps taken by Lekhwiya are patrols conducted in various parts of the country, the video shows.
The patrols are carried out in co-operation with Al-Fazaa and the General Directorate of Traffic.
During these patrols, Lekhwiya personnel raise awareness among motorists about the importance of Covid-19 preventive measures.
They educate people on how to properly use masks and gloves to stay safe and prevent infections.
In the Industrial Area, Lekhwiya has been involved in the disinfection and sterilisation work carried out there.
It has also played a key role in keeping part of the area closed as part of the preventive and precautionary steps taken by the State.
Lekhwiya has so far disinfected some 2,000 vehicles coming from the Industrial Area while around 4,000 people have also been sanitised.
The Ministry of Interior (MoI) has mobilised all its capabilities in the fight against Covid-19 and to protect society from the virus by adopting a slew of measures.
MoI departments are working to ensure that people follow the safety guidelines and participating in community awareness campaigns.
In general, the number of patrols has been increased across the country in order to ensure public safety.
Al-Fazaa is also securing the closed part of the Industrial Area and conducting patrols all over the country to monitor compliance with the instructions issued by the competent authorities.
The patrols ensure that there is no gathering in public places and people follow social distancing guidelines.
Besides, Al-Fazaa ensures that shops are closed as per government directives.
Al-Fazaa has set up checkpoints throughout the country with the aim of providing more protection to the community against the risk of the virus and to avoid infection.
The Traffic Patrol and Investigation Department at the General Directorate of Traffic has provided round-the-clock support to all relevant departments of the MoI such as Al Fazaa, the Capital Security Department and security departments in external areas.
Efforts to secure street and road traffic, and provide advice and guidance to drivers have been consolidated through the specific follow-up and inspection points.
These are done with the purpose of educating road users to stay at home to ensure public safety and support Qatar’s efforts in confronting the pandemic.

أكّد الملازم عبدالله محمد، الضابط بقوة الأمن الداخلي لخويا أن القوة قامت بمهام عديدة في ظل أزمة تفشي فيروس كورونا من بينها القيام بدور الإسناد مع دوريات الفزعة والمرور والإدارات الأمنية الأخرى ، حيث شاركت القوة في عملية إغلاق المنطقة الصناعية كما قامت مجموعة البحث والإنقاذ بتعقيم ما يقارب 4 آلاف شخص و2000 مركبة.
وأوضح الملازم عبدالله محمد في مقطع فيديو تم بثه على حساب وزارة الداخلية على تويتر وحساب قوة لخويا على موقع إنستجرام بعنوان «لخويا في الصفوف الأولى لمواجهة الأزمة «أن الدور الثاني الذي تقوم به دوريات لخويا هو إقامة نقاط توعوية على جميع مناطق الدوحة لافتاً إلى أن هذه النقاط تقوم بمهمة توصيل المعلومة التوعوية للجمهور بأهمية عدم الخروج من المنزل إلا للضرورة القصوى وكذلك توعيتهم بضرورة أخذ الاحتياطات الاحترازية اللازمة مثل ارتداء الكمامة والقفاز أثناء الخروج من المنزل مؤكداً أن مهمة القوة هي المشاركة في تأمين البلاد.
من جانبها دعت وزارة الداخلية في تغريدة على حسابها في تويتر إلى الالتزام باشتراطات التعهد الصحي، مشيرة إلى أن هذا التعهد يعني التقيد بالقوانين والقرارات وعدم مخالطة الآخرين.
وشددت على أن الالتزام بالإجراءات الوقائية لمنع انتشار فيروس كورونا هو واجب وطني داعية قائدي السيارات على ألا يزيد عدد المتواجدين بسياراتهم عن أكثر من شخصين فقط.
يُشار إلى أن اللجنة العليا لإدارة الأزمات كانت قد فرضت في السابع عشر من مارس الماضي إغلاقاً جزئياً للمنطقة الصناعية بداية من شارع ١ وحتى شارع ٣٢ بعد اكتشاف عدد من الإصابات بفيروس كورونا هناك، وذلك حفاظاً على سلامة سكان المنطقة عن طريق إجراءات الفحص الطبي المستمر ووقاية المناطق الأخرى من انتشار الفيروس بشكل أكبر.
وحرصت اللجنة على أنه لن تؤثر عملية الإغلاق على الاحتياجات اليومية لقاطني المنطقة، حيث تم التنسيق مع الشركات المعنية باستمرار توفير الاحتياجات اليومية للعاملين لديها وصرف رواتبهم في مواعيدها المعتادة، بالإضافة إلى التنسيق ما بين وزارة التنمية الإدارية والعمل والشؤون الاجتماعية وقطر الخيرية، لتوفير المزيد من الدعم مثل توزيع الكمامات والمعقمات وغيرها من الاحتياجات.
كما قامت فرق ميدانية متخصصة مجهزة بأحدث الآليات وتقنيات التعقيم بتطهير وتعقيم المنشآت بالمنطقة الصناعية، عبر خطة شملت مباني المنشآت وساحاتها ومواقف السيارات إلى جانب المعدات التي تحتويها تلك الشركات من مكاتب وأجهزة وسيارات.
وفي نهاية الأسبوع الماضي بدأت الحياة تعود إلى طبيعتها تدريجياً في شوارع ١ و٢ والوكالات بالمنطقة بناء على قرار اللجنة العليا لإدارة الأزمات بالافتتاح التدريجي للجزء المغلق من المنطقة.. بينما لا يزال العمل مستمراً من أجل افتتاح باقي شوارع المنطقة وفق ما تحدده المعطيات الطبية وتقتضيه المصلحة العامة.
وقامت اللجنة في طور إعدادها لهذا الافتتاح الجزئي، بنقل نحو 6500 عامل خلال الفترة من 14 إلى 17 أبريل الجاري إلى الحجر الصحي الاحترازي لفحصهم بشكل استباقي رغم عدم ظهور أي أعراض واضحة عليهم حفاظاً على سلامتهم وسلامة سكان المنطقة.
