Qatar Rail signs pacts with Qatar Airways, QNB and Commercial Bank

Qatar Rail yesterday signed a number of high-level agreements in the presence of Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani; Minister of Transport and Communications H E Jassim bin Saif Al Sulaiti, and Minister of Municipality and Environment and Qatar Rail’s Managing Director H E Abdulla bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie.

During the naming rights agreement signing ceremony, held at Cityscape Qatar, Qatar Rail signed agreements with Qatar Airways (QA), Qatar National Bank (QNB) and Commercial Bank.

Qatar Rail signed a naming agreement of Hamad International Airport Station with QA. The agreement was signed by H E Abdulla bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie and Akbar Al Baker, Group Chief Executive of Qatar Airways and Secretary-General of Qatar National Tourism Council.

The stations naming rights is one of Qatar Rail’s strategies aimed at forming strategic alliances with renowned local and international corporations and brands to promoting their services at the stations and reach wider market segments.

Qatar Rail also signed the naming rights agreement of Lusail Station with QNB. Ali Rashid Al Mohannadi, Group Chief Operating Officer, signed the agreement on behalf of QNB. He said: “Obtaining the right of naming Lusail Metro Station as “Lusail -QNB Station” is a major achievement. The station will operate as the metro station serving Lusail that will provide a convenient and secure transportation option to avoid the city’s traffic congestion.

“We are keen to support every project that contributes to the development of the country’s infrastructure and the variation of income sources. We would make sure to continue supporting Qatar National Vision 2030, along with the largest institutions in the country,” he added.

The Lusail Station, one of the Red line’s elevated stations of the Doha Metro, is the key metro station in Lusail City and will be part of the first operational phase of Doha Metro. The station is one of the exchange stations and will link to Lusail Tram network, enabling passengers to travel between Lusail Tram and Doha Metro lines to complete their journeys.

Ajlan Eid Al Enazi, Chief of Strategy & Business Development at Qatar Rail, said: “We are pleased to have entered into these agreements which confirm the importance of these partnerships. These agreements allow companies to achieve marketing objectives and promote their brands. Naming rights is a strategic and long-term opportunity that allows companies to reach a wider segment of its target market and promote their brand across.

In addition, Qatar Rail signed two agreements with Commercial Bank, firstly allotting commercial spaces at Qatar University Station and the naming rights to boost their promotions for a period of five years.
The agreement details the right for Commercial Bank to promote its brand within prominent advertisement spaces both inside and outside the metro station.

Additionally, Commercial Bank will take over all commercial spaces at Qatar University Station and open an integrated branch spreading over 110sqm to provide a wide range of banking services to students, entrepreneurs and metro passengers. The station will also feature a meeting point for professionals in addition to food and beverage facilities.

Joseph Abraham, Group Chief Executive Officer of Commercial Bank, said, “Commercial Bank is proud to sign such a high-end agreement with Qatar Railways Company. Such an agreement represents one perfect collaboration and partnership between public and private companies. We hope to reach a wider niche of customers through our branch in Qatar University, especially university students, teachers and visitors.”

Eng. Abdulla Saif Al Sulaiti, Chief of Service Delivery at Qatar Rail, commented, “The agreement is a model example of public-private partnership that contributes to the development of the business sector while providing opportunities for businesses to reach a broader customer base. We are pleased to partner with CBQ to enrich the services we provide at Doha Metro station this will position the stations as a destination for students, SMEs and other segments of the community.” Qatar Rail is showcasing Transit-Oriented Developments (TOD), which are high density, mixed-use, pedestrian-friendly developments around rail transit stations that act as community hubs with easy walkability, minimal parking and other design features that will enhance public transport use and overall accessibility.

وقعت شركة سكك الحديد القطرية “الريل” اليوم على اتفاقيات لمنح حقوق تسمية المحطات وترويج العلامات التجارية في مشروع مترو الدوحة، وذلك مع كل من مجموعة الخطوط الجوية القطرية والبنك التجاري.

وتعد حقوق تسمية المحطات أحد جوانب استراتيجية شركة الرَيل التي تسعى من خلالها لعقد شراكات مع الشركات والعلامات التجارية البارزة المحلية والعالمية للترويج لخدماتها في المحطات وإتاحة الفرصة لها للوصول لشريحة أوسع من القطاعات السوقية المستهدفة.

وتم توقيع الاتفاقيات بحضور سعادة السيد جاسم بن سيف السليطي ووزير المواصلات والاتصالات نائب رئيس مجلس إدارة شركة الريل وسعادة المهندس عبدالله عبدالعزيز السبيعي وزير البلدية والبيئة، العضو المنتدب لشركة الريل.

وفي هذا الإطار تم التوقيع على منح حقوق تسمية محطة مطار حمد الدولي لمجموعة الخطوط الجوية القطرية، حيث قام سعادة المهندس عبدالله عبدالعزيز السبيعي وزير البلدية والبيئة، العضو المنتدب لشركة الريل بتوقيع الاتفاقية مع سعادة السيد أكبر الباكر الأمين العام للمجلس الوطني للسياحة الرئيس التنفيذي لمجموعة الخطوط الجوية القطرية.

كما تم توقيع اتفاقيتين مع البنك التجاري، وسيتم بموجبهما منح حقوق ترويج العلامة التجارية وإشغال للمساحات التجارية في محطة جامعة قطر لمدة خمس سنوات.

وتشمل هذه الاتفاقية ترويج العلامة التجارية للبنك التجارية في مساحات إعلانية بارزة داخل المحطة وخارجها في حين سيقوم البنك التجاري بإشغال كافة المساحات التجارية في محطة جامعة قطر وافتتاح فرع متكامل في المحطة يمتد على مساحة 110 أمتار مربعة لتقديم خدماته المصرفية المتنوعة للطلبة ورواد الأعمال وركاب المترو، كما يشمل هذا الفرع المتميز مركزا للأعمال مخصصا للطلبة ومساحة لعقد الفعاليات ذات الصلة ومنطقة مخصصة لعرض أنشطة رواد الأعمال وركنا لتقديم الأطعمة والمشروبات.

وقال السيد عجلان عيد العنزي رئيس قطاع الاستراتيجيات وتطوير الأعمال لشركة الريل، حول توقيع هذه الاتفاقيات، “إن نظام نقل المترو يعد إحدى أهم وسائل النقل التي تجذب شريحة واسعة ومتنوعة من المستخدمين إضافة إلى كون المحطات بشكل عام نقاط جذب للقاطنين في الأحياء المجاورة وتشكل فرصة مميزة للشركات للترويج لعلاماتها وخدماتها ونحن نتطلع للعمل مع شركائنا لتعزيز مكانتهم السوقية من خلال هذه الشراكة بالصورة الأمثل”.

ومن جهته قال المهندس عبدالله سيف السليطي رئيس قطاع شؤون العمليات في شركة الريل إن هذه الاتفاقيات تعد نموذجاً للشراكة بين القطاع الخاص والعام والتي تسهم في تنمية قطاع الأعمال المحلي وإتاحة الفرص للشركات الوصول لشريحة جديدة من العملاء. ونحن سعداء بتعاوننا مع البنك التجاري في هذه الاتفاقيات والتي من شأنها إثراء الخدمات التي تُقدم في محطات المترو وجعلها وجهة حيوية ومقصدا لمختلف فئات المجتمع سواء الطلبة أو رواد الأعمال وغيرهم”.
