Qatari envoy gets highest award for advancing ties

Buenos Aires: The government of Argentina granted Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Argentine Republic, Fahad bin Ibrahim Al Hamad Al Mana, the Order of the Liberator General San Martin, which is the highest decoration awarded to foreign presidents, government heads, ministers, ambassadors and officials who provided great services to develop relations between their countries and Argentina.
The announcement was made during the farewell ceremony held by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Argentine Republic, in honour of Qatar’s Ambassador to Argentina on the occasion of ending his tenure in the country.
During the ceremony, Argentina’s Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Gustavo Zlauvinen, praised the efforts made by Al Mana during his mission in developing bilateral relations. He added that his efforts resulted in achieving great relations and based on that the government decided to grant him the Order of the Liberator General San Martin.
For his part, Al Mana expressed thanks to the Argentinian government and people for their hospitality and preparedness to cooperate in order to improve the relations with the State of Qatar. The ceremony was attended by senior officials, heads of departments at the Argentinian Foreign Ministry, heads and representatives of the Arab and foreign diplomatic missions accredited to Argentina, as well as a number of prominent public figures.
منحت الحكومة الأرجنتينية سعادة السيد فهد بن إبراهيم الحمد المانع سفير دولة قطر لدى جمهورية الأرجنتين، وسام «المحرر سان مارتين»، وهو أرفع وسام شرف تمنحه السلطات للرؤساء ورؤساء الحكومات والوزراء والسفراء والمسؤولين الأجانب، الذين قدموا خدمات جليلة لتطوير العلاقات بين بلدانهم والأرجنتين. جاء الإعلان عن ذلك خلال حفل وداع أقامته وزارة خارجية جمهورية الأرجنتين، على شرف سفير دولة قطر لدى بوينس آيرس، بمناسبة انتهاء فترة عمله.
وأشاد سعادة السيد جوستافو سلاوفينين نائب وزير خارجية جمهورية الأرجنتين، في كلمة له خلال افتتاح الحفل، بالجهود التي بذلها سعادة السيد فهد بن إبراهيم الحمد المانع طيلة فترة عمله سفيراً لدولة قطر لدى بلاده، في تطوير العلاقات الثنائية، قائلاً في هذا السياق: «إن جهوده أثمرت بلوغ العلاقات درجة الامتياز، وبناء على ذلك قررت الحكومة منحه وسام المحرر سان مارتين». وأعرب سعادة السفير المانع عن شكره للأرجنتين حكومة وشعباً، لما حظي به طوال فترة عمله من حسن الاستقبال وكرم الضيافة والاستعداد للتعاون، من أجل الارتقاء بالعلاقات.
