Amir holds talks with Nepal President

Doha: The Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani held official talks with President of Nepal Bidya Devi Bhandari at the Amiri Diwan today in the afternoon.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Amir welcomed the President and the accompanying delegation, pointing to the importance of this visit which will develop and advance cooperation between the two friendly countries in various fields for the interest of their peoples.

For her part, the President expressed her thanks to the Amir for inviting her to visit Qatar, stressing her confidence that the visit will contribute to promote friendship and cooperation ties between Nepal and Qatar to a wider perspective.

The session of talks discussed ways to enhance and promote bilateral relations in various fields, especially in the areas of investment, education, agriculture, food security and exchange of experiences, especially as Qatar hosts a large number of Nepalese workforce.

During the talks, the President praised Qatar’s efforts to protect the rights of expatriate workers in Qatar, including Nepalese workers, lauding the legislation and measures taken by Qatar in this regard.

The talks also dealt with a number of issues of common concern.

Following the session of talks, the Amir and the Nepal President witnessed the signing of an agreement and a memorandum of understanding between the governments of the two countries.
An agreement on the cancellation of visa for holders of diplomatic, private and official passports and a memorandum of understanding in agriculture and food security were signed.

The MoU aimed at supporting agricultural development and cooperation between the two countries.

The talks and the signing ceremony were attended by a number of ministers.

The Amir also hosted a luncheon banquet at the Amiri Diwan in honor of the President of Nepal and her accompanying delegation.

عقد حضرة صاحب السمو الشيخ تميم بن حمد آل ثاني أمير البلاد المفدى، جلسة مباحثات رسمية بالديوان الأميري، قبل ظهر أمس، مع فخامة الرئيسة بيديا ديفي بهانداري رئيسة جمهورية نيبال الديمقراطية الاتحادية.

وفي بداية الجلسة، رحب سمو الأمير المفدى بفخامة الرئيسة والوفد المرافق، مشيراً إلى أهمية هذه الزيارة التي من شأنها تنمية وتطوير التعاون بين البلدين الصديقين في شتى المجالات، بما يخدم مصلحة شعبيهما.

من جانبها، أعربت فخامة الرئيسة عن شكرها لسمو الأمير على دعوته لها لزيارة دولة قطر، مؤكدة ثقتها بأنها ستساهم في دفع علاقات الصداقة والتعاون بين نيبال وقطر إلى آفاق أرحب.

تم خلال الجلسة بحث السبل الكفيلة بتعزيز وتطوير العلاقات الثنائية بين البلدين في مختلف المجالات، وخاصة في مجالات الاستثمار، والتعليم، والزراعة، والأمن الغذائي، وتبادل الخبرات، لا سيما أن دولة قطر تستضيف عدداً كبيراً من الأيدي العاملة النيبالية.

وقد أشادت فخامة الرئيسة خلال المباحثات بالجهود الحثيثة التي تبذلها الدولة لحماية حقوق العمالة الوافدة في دولة قطر، ومن ضمنها العمالة النيبالية، منوهة بالتشريعات والإجراءات التي اتخذتها قطر في هذا الإطار. كما تناولت المباحثات عدداً من القضايا ذات الاهتمام المشترك. وعقب الجلسة شهد حضرة صاحب السمو أمير البلاد المفدى، وفخامة رئيسة جمهورية نيبال، التوقيع على اتفاقية ومذكرة تفاهم بين حكومتي البلدين، حيث تم التوقيع على اتفاقية حول إلغاء التأشيرة لحاملي جوازات السفر الدبلوماسية والخاصة والرسمية، ومذكرة تفاهم في مجال الزراعة والأمن الغذائي، تهدف الى دعم التنمية الزراعية والتعاون بين البلدين.

حضر المباحثات ومراسم التوقيع عدد من أصحاب السعادة الوزراء. ومن الجانب النيبالي حضرها أصحاب السعادة أعضاء الوفد الرسمي المرافق لفخامة الرئيسة.

وكانت فخامة رئيسة جمهورية نيبال قد وصلت إلى الديوان الأميري في وقت سابق، حيث أقيمت لها مراسم استقبال رسمية.

أقام حضرة صاحب السمو الشيخ تميم بن حمد آل ثاني أمير البلاد المفدى، بالديوان الأميري، أمس، مأدبة غداء تكريماً لفخامة الرئيسة بيديا ديفي بهانداري رئيسة جمهورية نيبال الديمقراطية الاتحادية، والوفد المرافق لها. حضر المأدبة عدد من أصحاب السعادة الوزراء ورجال الأعمال.;
