Marine environment watch second phase starts
انطلاق الجولة الثانية من برنامج رصد حالة البيئة البحرية لدولة قطر
The Ministry of Municipality and Environment began the second phase of the field observation of the marine environment in Qatar for the year 2018, part of the environmental monitoring plan for air, water and soil in the country.
The field monitoring team from the ministry, in co-operation with different municipalities, cities such as Ras Laffan Industrial City and Mesaieed Industrial City and ports management company used modern monitoring devices to begin the phase.
The monitoring will continue until next week.
Efforts to protect the Qatari environment, resources and sustainability comes as part of Qatar’s second National Development Strategy 2018-2022.
It also comes as part of the importance given to the environment by the country’s leadership which is reflected in making the issue the fourth pillar in the Qatar National Vision 2030.
Manager of the Department of Environmental Observation Engineer Hussein al-Kibisi said the current phase follows last year’s programme, where environmental data were recorded at 4 coastal sites and 14 beach locations using modern equipment.
These sites are accredited in the programme and cover all areas of the important marine environment in Qatar, extending from Khor Al Udeid to south and east, then the rest of the sites north of Ras Rakan, west and south to Salwa, passing through Dukhan, he said.
He added that after the teams record measurements of the different environmental variables in the specified sites, marine samples are collected and stored by approved technical methods and handed over to an environmental laboratory affiliated with the department.
The lab then runs physical, chemical and microbiological measurements of 36 environmental parameters, to prepare semi-annual and annual reports containing a comprehensive assessment of the marine environment quality in the country to be submitted to the relevant authorities for follow-up, he said.
Head of the aquatic environment quality in the department Ali al-Kuwari said, the second phase of observing the aquatic environment in Qatar complies with the ongoing monthly programme of monitoring seven maritime sites distributed across different parts of the country, where the same procedures are carried out, in addition to preparing monthly reports on marine water quality.
He added that the department holds a monthly monitoring programme for sea water quality in Qatar and environmental survey of the water quality discharged into the Gulf from seven drainages belonging to the Public Works Authority Ashghal.
في إطار تنفيذ خطط برامج الرصد البيئي للهواء والماء والتربة، انطلقت خلال الأسبوع الماضي الجولة الثانية من الرصد الميداني للعام 2018 ضمن برنامج رصد حالية البيئة البحرية لدولة قطر.
وقام فريق الرصد الميداني بوزارة البلدية والبيئة ممثلاً في إدارة الرصد البيئي وبالتعاون مع البلديات المختلفة وكلاً من مدينة رأس لفان الصناعية ومدينة دخان الصناعية ومدينة مسيعيد الصناعية وإدارة الموانئ وباستخدام أجهزة الرصد الحديثة بتنفيذ الجولة الثانية والتي ستمتد إلى الأسبوع القادم.
كما أن هذه الجهود لحماية البيئة القطرية ومواردها واستدامتها تتم حسب خطط استراتيجية التنمية الوطنية الثانية لدولة قطر (2018-2022)، ويأتي ذلك في إطار ما تحظى به البيئة من الاهتمام والعناية من القيادة الرشيدة لحضرة صاحب السمو الشيخ تميم بن حمد آل ثاني أمير البلاد المفدى (حفظه الله)، وتمثل ذلك بوضوح بجعلها الركيزة الرابعة لرؤية قطر 2030.
وقد صرح المهندس حسين الكبيسي مدير إدارة الرصد البيئي بالوزارة أن هذه الجولة تأتي بعد أن تم تطوير البرنامج في عام 2017، ويتم خلال الجولة الحالية إجراء القياسات البيئية في جميع مواقع الرصد المحددة، حيث يتم استخدام الأجهزة الحديثة لرصد عدد (14) موقع ساحلي و (14) موقع شاطئي وهي المواقع المعتمدة في البرنامج والتي تغطي كافة مناطق البيئة البحرية الهامة في الدولة والممتدة من خور العديد جنوباً شرقاً ثم بقية المواقع شمالاً حتى رأس ركن وغرباً وجنوباً إلى سلوى مروراً بدخان.
وبعد قيام الفرق المعنية بإجراء القياسات للمتغيرات البيئية المختلفة في المواقع يتم جمع العينات البحرية وحفظها بالطرق الفنية المعتمدة ثم تسلميها للمختبر البيئي التابع لإدارة الرصد البيئي لإجراء القياسات الفيزيائية والكيميائية والميكروبيولوجية والتي يبلغ عددها (36) مقياس بيئي.
ومن هذا البرنامج يتم إعداد تقارير نصف سنوية وأخرى سنوية تحتوي على تقييم شامل لجودة البيئة البحرية ويتم رفعها للجهات المعنية للمتابعة.
ومن ناحية أخرى قام السيد علي الكواري رئيس قسم جودة البيئة المائية في إدارة الرصد البيئي بلفت الانتباه إلى أن الجولة الثانية من برنامج رصد حالة البيئة البحرية لدولة قطر للعام 2018 تتم بالتزامن مع برنامج شهري مستمر لرصد (7) مواقع بحرية موزعة على مناطق مختلفة من دولة قطر، ويتم فيها تنفيذ نفس الإجراءات المذكورة أعلاه من حيث القياسات في المواقع وجمع العينات وتحليلها في المختبر البيئي وإعداد تقارير شهرية خاصة بجودة المياه البحرية، كما أفاد السيد الكواري بأن قسم جودة البيئة المائية يقوم بتنفيذ برنامج رصد شهري لجودة مياه البحر في (5) فُرض بدولة قطر، وأيضاً قام القسم بتنفيذ مسح بيئي لنوعية المياه المنصرفة إلى البحر في خليج الدوحة من عدد (7) مصبات تابعة لهيئة الأشغال العامة.
