المشاريع والإرث ومتاحف قطر تطلقان شراكة مع “بست باديز”
DOHA: Best Buddies Global Ambassador Tom Brady will join the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC), Qatar Museums (QM), and Best Buddies participants in Qatar at the renowned Khalifa International Stadium to officially launch the new partnership between the two organisations on April 15.
This partnership is to incorporate individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in the organisation of the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar. The event – run by the SC’s flagship CSR programme Generation Amazing – will celebrate diversity, inclusion and bring together people with and without disabilities for a day of fun with the 5-time American Football Super Bowl Champion, Tom Brady.
“Tom Brady has served as an exemplary Global Ambassador for Best Buddies since 2003, and has helped bring an even greater awareness to the infinite abilities people with intellectual and developmental disabilities possess,” said Anthony Kennedy Shriver, Founder, Chairman & CEO of Best Buddies International. “Tom has proven himself to be a committed advocate for individuals with disabilities, always going above and beyond the call of duty to help promote a world of inclusion and opportunity for this population. Tom’s work in Qatar on behalf of Best Buddies will change lives for the better,” he added.
As part of the new partnership, the SC has committed to integrating 20 individuals with IDD in Qatar through the Tamkeen initiative, the SC’s inclusivity initiative, in Qatar’s organisation and hosting of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, helping participants grow their independence and work alongside others in their community. The partnership with QM included the commitment of integrating 20 individuals into QM’s operations and programmes.
During his visit to Qatar, Tom Brady will be hosted by H E Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad Al Thani, Chairperson of Qatar Museums, to some of the country’s most prestigious national gems and historic landmarks which includes the Museum of Islamic Art; a visit to Al Shaqab, an ultramodern equestrian facility; Khalifa International Stadium and a trip to enjoy the spectacular landscapes in Qatar’s sealine desert and will conclude by attending the opening ceremony of Qatar National Library. Best Buddies International is the world’s largest organisation dedicated to ending the social, physical and economic isolation of the 200 million people with IDD.
تطلق اللجنة العليا للمشاريع والإرث ومتاحف قطر شراكة مع منظمة “بست باديز” قطر لإشراك الأشخاص ذوي الإعاقة الذهنية والنمائية في الاستعدادات لاستضافة بطولة كأس العالم لكرة القدم قطر 2022.
وتهدف الفعالية إلى الترويج لقيم التنوع والشمولية في المجتمع، وذلك من خلال استضافة أنشطة ترفيهية متنوعة يشارك فيها برادي مع أشخاص من ذوي الإعاقة وغيرهم، ويشارك سفير منظمة “بست باديز” الدولي ولاعب كرة القدم الأمريكية الفائز بلقب “سوبر بول” خمس مرات توم برادي، مع متاحف قطر و”بست باديز” قطر في فعالية ينظمها برنامج المسؤولية الاجتماعية في اللجنة العليا للمشاريع والإرث، الجيل المبهر، في إستاد خليفة الدولي الأحد 15 إبريل الجاري.
وقال أنثوني شرايفر، مؤسس ورئيس مجلس الإدارة والرئيس التنفيذي لمنظمة “بست باديز” الدولية “عملنا مع توم برادي كسفير دولي لمنظمة “بست باديز” يعود إلى عام 2003، حيث ساهم خلال هذه الفترة في زيادة مستوى الوعي حول القدرات غير المحدودة للأشخاص ذوي الإعاقة الذهنية والنمائية. علاوة على ذلك، أثبت برادي خلال فترة عمله معنا مدى التزامه الكبير بهذه القضية، حيث بذل دائماً أقصى جهوده لضمان دمج الأشخاص ذوي الإعاقة في المجتمع كغيرهم من الأشخاص، وضمان توفير ذات الفرص لهم. ونأمل أن يساهم عمله في دولة قطر إلى تحسين حياة هذه الأفراد إلى الأفضل”.
المشاركة في استعدادات المونديال
وفي إطار هذه الشراكة، تعهدت اللجنة العليا على إشراك 20 شخصاً ذوي الإعاقة الذهنية والنمائية في تنظيم واستضافة دولة قطر لبطولة كأس العالم لكرة القدم 2022 لمساعدتهم على تنمية استقلاليتهم وضمان مشاركتهم كجزء لا يتجزأ من جهود تنظيم البطولة، وذلك من خلال مبادرة منتدى التمكين في اللجنة العليا.
إلى جانب ذلك، اشتملت الشراكة مع متاحف قطر على إشراك 20 شخصاً ذوي الإعاقة الذهنية والنمائية في البرامج والفعاليات المختلفة للمؤسسة، وخلال زيارته إلى قطر، تستضيف سعادة الشيخة المياسة بنت حمد آل ثاني، رئيس مجلس أمناء متاحف قطر، برادي في جولة حول أبرز المعالم الثقافية والتاريخية في دولة قطر ستشمل متحف الفن الإسلامي، وميدان الشقب للفروسية، وإستاد خليفة الدولي، وشاطئ سيلين، وتختتم الجولة بحفل افتتاح مكتبة قطر الوطنية.
