Qatar, Benin discuss prospects of bilateral cooperation

Doha: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, H E Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, met yesterday Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Benin, Aurelien Agbenonci, and his accompanying delegation, currently visiting Qatar.

The meeting discussed the prospects of bilateral cooperation and means of developing them in various fields, in addition to discussing a number of issues of common concern.

Following the meeting, four agreements were signed between Qatar and Benin concerning the protection and promotion of investment and the fields of culture, youth, and sports. The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs signed, on behalf of the State of Qatar, an agreement in the field of culture and an agreement in the field of youth and sports.

Minister of Economy and Commerce, H E Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani, signed an agreement on the protection and promotion of investment and an agreement in the area of economic, technical and commercial cooperation.

Benin’s Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Aurelien Agbenonci, signed the agreements on behalf of the Republic of Benin.

The aim of these agreements is to exchange expertise in cultural fields and to develop aspects related to youth and sports.

The signed agreements also aim at encouraging and protecting mutual investments, creating a good investment climate between the two countries, in addition to creating favourable conditions for investments and promoting and protecting these investments, as well as enhancing bilateral economic, technical and commercial cooperation.

Meanwhile, Amir Sheikh H H Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani has received a written message from President Patrice Talon of the Republic of Benin, pertaining to bilateral relations and means of boosting them. The message was received by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs during his meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Cooperation of the Republic of Benin, Aurelien Agbenonci.

عقد سعادة الشيخ محمد بن عبدالرحمن آل ثاني نائب رئيس مجلس الوزراء وزير الخارجية، أمس، جلسة مباحثات مع سعادة السيد أورليان ابينونسي وزير الخارجية والتعاون الإقليمي بجمهورية بنين والوفد المرافق له، والذي يزور البلاد حالياً.

جرى خلال الجلسة بحث آفاق التعاون الثنائي بين البلدين، وسبل تطويرها في مختلف المجالات، بالإضافة لبحث عدد من الموضوعات ذات الاهتمام المشترك.

وعقب الجلسة تم توقيع 4 اتفاقيات بين دولة قطر وجمهورية بنين، تتعلق بمجالات حماية الاستثمار وتشجيعه، ومجال الثقافة والشباب والرياضة.

فقد وقع عن دولة قطر على اتفاقية في مجال الثقافة، واتفاقية في مجال الشباب والرياضة، سعادة الشيخ محمد بن عبدالرحمن آل ثاني نائب رئيس مجلس الوزراء وزير الخارجية.

ووقع على اتفاقية تتعلق بحماية وتشجيع الاستثمار، واتفاقية في مجال التعاون الاقتصادي والفني والتجاري، سعادة الشيخ أحمد بن جاسم بن محمد آل ثاني وزير الاقتصاد والتجارة.

فيما وقع على الاتفاقيات عن جمهورية بنين، سعادة السيد أورليان ابينونسي وزير الخارجية والتعاون الإقليمي.

وتهدف تلك الاتفاقيات إلى تبادل الخبرات في المجالات الثقافية، وتطوير الجوانب المتعلقة بالشباب والرياضة.

كما تهدف الاتفاقيات الموقعة إلى تشجيع وحماية الاستثمارات المتبادلة، وإيجاد المناخ الاستثماري الجيد بين الدولتين، بالإضافة لتهيئة الظروف للاستثمارات بواسطة مستثمري البلدين، وتعزيز وحماية تلك الاستثمارات. بجانب تعزيز التعاون الاقتصادي والفني والتجاري بين البلدين.;
