Ashghal opens on Friday a new bridge and tunnel on Al Rayyan Road linking Al Furousiya Street with Al Huwar Street

In attendance was Eng. Ahmad Al Emadi from the Highway Department, Eng. Hamad Issa, Manager of Road Assets Department at the Ministry of Communications and Transportation, Mr. Mohammed Mahmoud Al Shafi, Chairman of the Central Municipal Council, and member of the 14th Precinct and Mr. Mohammed Salem Al Qamra, Member of the Municipal Council, Brigadier General Mohammad Marafia, Traffic Safety and Engineering Department Manager, and Engineer Saqer Al Kaaabi, Representative of Al Rayyan Municipality, and a number of officials of the authority and the project engineers.
The new bridge is 370-meter long and includes four lanes in each direction, two of which will be open in each direction. The new tunnel is 925 meters long and includes five lanes in each direction, of which two directions will open in each direction, to allow the continuation of construction works on the project. This is in addition to opening two lanes on Al Rayyan Road below the new bridge in the direction from Bani Hajar to Doha.
The new openings will lead to a significant improvement in traffic flow in the area, especially between Al Furousiya Street and Al-Hawar Street, leading to Al Gharafa Road and Khalifa Avenue, where a number of traffic detours will be canceled, reducing traffic time to more than 50%.
The openings will serve many areas, especially Al Rayyan, Al-Luqta, Al-Gharafa, Mreikh, Fareej Al-Amir, in addition to Education City and Aspire Zone.
In this occasion, the Project Engineer Eng. Abdullah Qassem said that the Public Works Authority is working on the completion of the second phase of the Al Rayyan Road Development Project by the end of 2018, as per the directives of His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah Bin Nasser Al Khalifa Al Thani, the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.
He added that the new bridge and tunnel will bring a significant change in traffic, which will reduce travel time and traffic congestion, stressing that the openings will provide a free flow traffic for those coming to and from Al- Furousiya Street and Al- Hawar Street and will serve busy areas such as Muaither and Al Rayyan and Al Gharafa.
Following the opening, a traffic change will be in place as the the tempoarary light signals and the left turn at Al Rayyan Al Jadeed eastwards and westwards will be removed as follows:
From Al Gharafa:
Road users traveling from Al Gharafa via Huwar Street can use the new underpass at Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Thani Interchange and new bridge at Khalid bin Abdullah Al Attiyah Interchange to travel south towards Aspire Zone.
Road users traveling from Al Gharafa wishing to travel west towards Bani Hajer can use the diverted road and turn right onto Al Rayyan Al Jadeed Street.
From Aspire Zone:
Road users traveling from Aspire Zone via Al Furousiya Street can use the new bridge at Khalid bin Abdullah Al Attiyah Interchange and new underpass at Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Thani Interchange to travel north towards Al Gharafa.
Road users traveling from Aspire Zone can use the diverted Al Furousiya Street and turn right onto Al Rayyan Al Jadeed Street to travel east towards Doha.
From Bani Hajer:
Road users traveling from Bani Hajer via Al Rayyan Al Jadeed Street can use the new underpass at Khalid bin Abdullah Al Attiyah Interchange to travel east towards Doha. They can also use this underpass and turn left after the R5 Bridge to travel north towards Al Gharafa.
Road users traveling from Bani Hajer can use the temporary diverted road to travel south towards Aspire Zone.
From Doha:
Road users traveling from Doha via Al Rayyan Al Jadeed Street can turn right before the new bridge at Khalid bin Abdullah Al Attiyah Interchange to travel north towards Al Gharafa. They can also use the diverted southbound Huwar Street and turn right towards Bani Hajer.
From Al Maqareen Street:
Road users traveling from Al Maqareen Street can turn right onto Huwar Street to travel north towards Al Gharafa. They can also use the new U-Turn to travel onto new underpass at Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Thani Interchange and new bridge at Khalid bin Abdullah Al Attiyah Interchange to travel south towards Aspire Zone. They can also use the diverted southbound Huwar Street and turn right towards Bani Hajer.
Phase two of Al Rayyan Road
The project includes the development of the road from the west of the Olympic Roundabout to the west of Khalid Bin Abdullah Al-Attiya Roundabout (New Rayyan Roundabout), the project will develop a new dual carriageway of 5.5 km in four lanes in each direction, in addition to developing five main intersections, a bridge and a tunnel which are:
- Intersection of Al Rayyan Road with Al Furousiya Street:
- An intersection of three levels so that Al Rayyan Road traffic will flow freely through the tunnel, while the local traffic uses the signals at the ground level of the intersection, as for Al Huwar Street crossing Al Furousiya Street will be a free flow through the bridge
- The intersection of the Al Rayyan Al Qadeem Street with Al Huwar Street:
- An Intersection of two levels so that the street traffic will flow freely through the tunnel, and the Al Rayyan Al Qadeem Street on the ground level with a traffic control through the traffic signals.
- The intersection of Al Rayyan Road with Al Bustan Street:
- An intersection with three levels so that the free flow of traffic will be on the Al Rayyan Road through the tunnel, while the local traffic flow will be at the ground level and controlled by the traffic signals
- The intersection of Al Rayyan Al Qadeem Street with Al Bustan Street:
- A two-level intersection, so traffic flow freely on Al Bustan Street through the tunnel. Traffic on the Al Rayyan Al Qadeem Street will be on the ground level and will be coordinated by the traffic lights.
- The intersection of Al-Rayyan Road and 22nd of February Street:
- An intersection with four levels. The current intersection is being renewed and a new bridge will be constructed with the support of two structures to accommodate the traffic coming from the north on 22 February Street. Traffic coming from the west will be on Al-Rayyan Road.
- Al Mesila Tunnel:
- A two-level intersection, where traffic flows at the ground level on Al-Rayyan Road. As for traffic on Jassim Bin Hamad Street using the tunnel which connects the eastern side of Al-Rayyan Road directly.
- Al-Rayyan Bridge:
- A one-way bridge composed of two corridors. It contributes to the free flow of traffic from Al Waab towards the new Al Rayyan Street, thus relieving pressure on Al Rayyan Roundabout.
- The second project of the Al Rayyan Road Construction and Development Project involves the implementation of extensive works to establish and upgrade the infrastructure of the area within the scope of the project, where a 31 km of treated sewage lines will be installed for irrigation of green spaces, and a 40 km of stormwater drainage netwoek will be installed, 32 km of drinking water pipes and the installation of a 15 km of sewage network.
Phase Two Opening
Ashghal opened in 2017 Al Mesila Tunnel within the second phase of the Al Rayyan Road Development Project, in addition to the opening of Jassim Bin Hamad Street, which is directly connected to Al Rayyan Road which has been expanded and opening parts of the old Traffic Roundabout which was diverted into an intersection with traffic lights.
Al Mesila Tunnel, located below Al Rayyan Road, 800 meters west of the Olympic Roundabout, is the first construction achievement in phase two of the Al Rayyan Road Development Project.
The Public Works Authority has also opened Al Rayyan Interchange Bridge, which is about one kilometer long and consists of two lanes in one direction connecting traffic from Al Amir Street and Doha Expressway with the new Al Rayyan Road.
The first phase of the Al Rayyan Road
Ashghal opened the first phase for the development of Al Rayyan Road in 2017, which extends for about three kilometers west of Khalid Bin Al Attiya (New Rayyan Roundabout) to the east of Bani Hajar roundabout, including the construction of four lanes in each direction separated by a central island , a 2 Kilometer in length side roads and a 5.8 km in length service roads.
It also consists of developing three intersections which are Al Shafi Street, and Al Qalaa Street and Al Wajba Street with Al Rayyan Road.
The project also included pedestrian and cycle paths to encourage the public to walk and use bicycles, which are considered an environmentally friendly means of transportation, as they do not produce any emissions that affects the environment negatively, also reduces the congestion and traffic jams.
تعلن هيئة الأشغال العامة “أشغال” عن افتتاح جزئي لجسر جديد بتقاطع خالد بن عبدالله العطية ونفق جديد بتقاطع الشيخ خالد بن حمد آل ثاني ضمن مشروع تطوير طريق الريان (المرحلة الثانية) ، اعتباراً من يوم الجمعة 5/10/2018 وبالتنسيق مع الإدارة العامة للمرور ، وذلك لتوفير تدفق مروري حر ومباشر بين شارع الفروسية وشارع حوار.
حضر الافتتاح كل من المهندس أحمد العمادي من إدارة الطرق السريعة والمهندس حمد عيسى مديرإدارة أصول الطرق بوزارة المواصلات والاتصالات، والسيد محمد حمود آل شافي، رئيس المجلس البلدي المركزي وعضو المجلس عن الدائرة 14والسيد محمد سالم القمرا، عضو المجلس البلدي المركزي عن الدائرة الخامسة، والعميد محمد معرفية مدير إدارة الهندسة والسلامة المرورية والمهندس صقر الكعبي ممثل بلدية الريان وعدد من مسؤلي الهيئة ومهندسي المشروع.
وتشير “أشغال” إلى أن طول الجسر الجديد يبلغ 370 متراً ويشمل أربعة مسارات في كل اتجاه حيث سيتم فتح مسارين منها بكل اتجاه، كما أن طول النفق يبلغ 925 متراً ويشمل خمسة مسارات في كل اتجاه سيتم فتح مسارين منها بكل اتجاه وذلك للسماح باستمرار أعمال الإنشاء في المشروع، هذا إلى جانب فتح مسارين بطريق الريان أسفل الجسر الجديد أمام القادمين من بني هاجر في اتجاه الدوحة.
وستعمل الافتتاحات الجديدة على تحقيق انسابية مرورية كبيرة في المنطقة خصوصاً بين شارع الفروسية وشارع حوار وصولاً لشارع الغرافة وطريق خليفة أفنيو، حيث سيتم إلغاء عدد من التحويلات المرورية ما سيعمل على اختصار زمن الرحلات إلى أكثر من 50%.
وستخدم الافتتاحات العديد من المناطق لاسيما الريان ومعيذر واللقطة والغرافة ومريخ وفريج الأمير إلى جانب المدينة التعليمية وأسباير زون.
وبهذه المناسبة، أكد المهندس عبدالله قاسم، مهندس المشروع، أن هيئة الأشغال العامة تعمل على قدم وساق على إنجاز المرحلة الثانية من مشروع تطوير طريق الريان بنهاية 2018 بناء على توجيهات معالي الشيخ عبدالله بن ناصر آل خليفة آل ثاني، رئيس مجلس الوزراء ووزير الداخلية.
وأضاف أن الجسر والنفق الجديدين سيعملان على إحداث تغيير كبير في حركة السير والذي سيعمل على تقليص زمن الرحلات وتقليل الزحام المروري، مؤكداً أن الافتتاحات ستوفر تدفقاً مرورياً حراً أمام القادمين من وإلى شارع الفروسية وشارع حوار وسيخدم مناطق مزدحمة مثل معيذر والريان وصولاً للغرافة.
تعديل الحركة المرورية
وعقب الافتتاح سيتم تعديل حركة السير حيث سيتضمن التعديل المروري إزالة الاشارة المرورية المؤقتة والمنعطف اليساري عند الريان الجديد شرقاً وإزالة المنعطف الحر عند الريان الجديد غرباً ، وعليه:
يستطيع رواد الطريق القادمون من الغرافة عبر شارع حوار استخدام النفق الجديد عند تقاطع الشيخ خالد بن حمد آل ثاني والجسر الجديد عند تقاطع خالد بن عبدالله العطية للذهاب جنوباً نحو أسباير زون.
ويستطيع رواد الطريق القادمون من الغرافة والراغبين بمواصلة سيرهم غرباً نحو بني هاجر استخدام التحويلة الجديدة والانعطاف يميناً نحو شارع الريان الجديد.
كما يستطيع رواد الطريق القادمون من أسباير زون عبر شارع الفروسية استخدام الجسر الجديد عند تقاطع خالد بن عبدالله العطية والنفق الجديد عند تقاطع الشيخ خالد بن حمد آل ثاني للذهاب شمالاً نحوالغرافة.
يستطيع رواد الطريق القادمون من الغرافة استخدام التحويلة الجديدة والانعطاف يميناً نحو شارع الريان الجديد للذهاب شرقاً نحو الدوحة.
يستطيع رواد الطريق القادمون من بني هاجر عبر شارع الريان الجديد استخدام النفق الجديد عند تقاطع خالد بن عبدالله العطية للذهاب شرقاً نحو الدوحة. كما يمكنهم استخدام النفق والانعطاف يساراً بعد الجسرعند تقاطع خالد بن عبدالله العطية للذهاب شمالاً نحو الغرافة.
المرحلة الثانية من طريق الريان
يضم المشروع أعمال تطوير الطريق من غرب الدوار الأولمبي إلى غرب دوار خالد بن عبدالله العطية (دوار الريان الجديد) وسيتم من خلال المشروع تطوير طريق مزدوج جديد طوله 5.5 كلم بأربعة مسارات في كل اتجاه، بالإضافة إلى إنشاء خمسة تقاطعات رئيسية ونفق وجسر كالتالي:

تقاطع طريق الريان مع شارع الفروسية:
تقاطع بثلاثة مستويات بحيث يكون شارع الريان ذو تدفق حر من خلال النفق، أما الحركة المرورية المحلية فستخدم الإشارات الضوئية على المستوى الأرضي من التقاطع، أما شارع حوار المتقاطع مع شارع الفروسية فسيكون ذو تدفق حر من خلال الجسر.

تقاطع شارع الريان القديم مع شارع حوار:
تقاطع بمستويين بحيث يكون شارع حوار ذو تدفق حر من خلال النفق، وشارع الريان القديم على المستوى الأرضي مع التحكم في الحركة المرورية من خلال الإشارات الضوئية.

تقاطع طريق الريان مع شارع البستان:
تقاطع بثلاثة مستويات بحيث يكون التدفق الحر للحركة المرورية على طريق الريان من خلال النفق، أما الحركة المرورية المحلية فستكون على المستوى الأرضي وتتحكم بها الإشارات الضوئية.

تقاطع طريق الريان القديم مع شارع البستان:
تقاطع ثنائي المستوى، بحيث تتدفق الحركة المرورية بحرية على شارع البستان من خلال النفق، أما الحركة المرورية على شارع الريان القديم فستكون على المستوى الأرضي وستنظمها الإشارات الضوئية.

تقاطع طريق الريان مع شارع 22 فبراير:
تقاطع بأربعة مستويات، بحيث يتم تحديث التقاطع القائم حالياً وإنشاء جسر جديد لاستيعاب الحركة المرورية القادمة من الشمال على شارع 22 فبراير، بينما تكون الحركة المرورية القادمة من الغرب على طريق الريان.

نفق المسيلة:
تقاطع ثنائي المستوى، بحيث تتدفق الحركة المرورية بانسيابية في المستوى الأرضي على طريق الريان، أما الحركة المرورية على شارع جاسم بن حمد فستسلك النفق الذي سيربط الجانب الشرقي من طريق الريان بشكل مباشر.

جسر الريان:
جسر بإتجاه واحد مؤلف من مسارين. يساهم بتدفق الحركة المرورية بانسيابية من الوعب نحو شارع الريان الجديد مما يخفف الضغط على دوار الريان.
وتشمل أعمال العقد الثاني لمشروع إنشاء وتطوير طريق الريان، تنفيذ أعمال واسعة لإنشاء وتحديث البنية التحتية للمنطقة الواقعة ضمن نطاق المشروع، حيث سيتم تركيب 31 كلم من خطوط مياه الصرف الصحي المعالجة لأغراض ري المساحات الخضراء، كما سيتم تركيب 40 كلم من خطوط تصريف مياه الأمطار، و32 كلم من خطوط المياه الصالحة للشرب، وتركيب شبكة صرف صحي طولها 15 كلم.
افتتاحات المرحلة الثانية
افتتحت هيئة الاشغال العامة “أشغال” في 2017 نفق المسيلة ضمن المرحلة الثانية من مشروع تطوير طريق الريان، إضافة إلى افتتاح شارع جاسم بن حمد الذي يتصل مباشرة بطريق الريان والذي تمت توسعته، و فتح أجزاء من دوار المرور القديم الذي يتم تحويله إلى تقاطع بإشارات مرورية.
ويمتد نفق المسيلة، تحت طريق الريان على بعد 800 متر من غرب الدوار الأولمبي، ويعد هذا الافتتاح أول الإنجازات الإنشائية ضمن المرحلة الثانية من مشروع تطوير طريق الريان.
كما افتتحت “أشغال” جسر تقاطع الريان، بطول حوالي كيلومتر واحد ويتألف من مسارين في اتجاه واحد حيث يربط حركة المرور القادمة من شارع الأمير وطريق الدوحة السريع مع طريق الريان الجديد.
ويوفر الجسر الحيوي الوصول بشكل مباشر من منطقة السد و منطقة الوعب وغيرها إلى طريق الريان الجديد وصولاً للريان وبني هاجر ودخان دون الحاجة لاستخدام دوار الريان والتحويلات المرورية في الريان القديم.
المرحلة الأولى من مشروع طريق الريان
كانت “أشغال” قد افتتحت في 2017 المرحلة الأولى من مشروع تطوير طريق الريان والذي يمتد بطول نحو ثلاثة كيلومترات من غرب دوار خالد بن عبدالله العطية (دوار الريان الجديد) إلى شرق دوار بني هاجر، وتشمل إنشاء أربعة مسارات في كل اتجاه تفصل بينها جزيرة وسطية، وإنشاء طرق جانبية بطول يبلغ 2 كيلومتراً، وطرق خدمية بطول يبلغ حوالي 5.8 كيلومتراً. كما يشمل إنشاء ثلاثة تقاطعات هي تقاطع شارع آل شافي مع طريق الريان وتقاطع شارع القلعة مع طريق الريان، وتطوير تقاطع طريق الريان مع شارع الوجبة.
كما تضمن المشروع إنشاء ممرات خاصة بالمشاة وبالدراجات الهوائية لتشجيع الجمهور على المشي واستخدام الدراجات الهوائية، التي تعتبر وسائل نقل صديقة للبيئة كونها لا تنتج أي انبعاثات تؤثر سلباً على البيئة، كما تقلل من الازدحام والاختناقات المرورية.
