Doha: Citizens interacted with MOI’s announcement regarding publishing the names and photos of perpetrators of wrong behavior and those who annoy others and attack their privacy, especially after the spread of such behaviors. on social media.
They stressed that this step would deter violators and prevent harassment and would prevent the commission of anything that would threaten the security and safety of community members.
Citizens said in statements to Al-Raya: “The recent cases of abuse, especially those of disturbing women and families during the National Day celebrations, were disturbing phenomena that have nothing to do with the morals and authentic customs of the people of Qatar.”
They also called on the concerned authorities to gradually apply the penalty to violators according to the type of violation, starting with a warning and a financial fine or imprisonment, and in the event of repetition, the pictures and names of the aggressors shall be published.
Qatari citizens stressed the importance of the role of mosques, schools and universities in informing members of society of wrong behaviors that lead the perpetrator to such punishment.
They also called for the Ministry of Interior to intensify awareness campaigns and issue pamphlets and brochures informing members of society of wrong behaviors that expose them to such punishment.

مؤكدين أن هذه الخُطوة من شأنها تحقيق الردع للمخالفين ومنع حدوث المضايقات أو ارتكاب ما من شأنه تهديد أمن وسلامة أفراد المجتمع.
وقال المواطنون في تصريحات لـ الراية: “إن حالات الاعتداء التي حصلت مؤخرًا، خاصة تلك المتمثلة بإزعاج النساء والأسر خلال احتفالات اليوم الوطني، كانت من الظواهر المزعجة التي لا تمتّ بصلة للأخلاق والعادات الأصيلة لأبناء قطر”.
داعين الجهات المعنيّة إلى التدرّج في تطبيق العقوبة على المخالفين حسب نوعية المخالفة، بحيث تبدأ بالإنذار والغرامة الماليّة أو الحبس وفي حال تكرار الأمر يتم نشر صور وأسماء المُعتدين.
وشددوا على أهمية دور المساجد والمدارس والجامعات في تعريف أفراد المجتمع بالسلوكيات الخاطئة التي تصل بمرتكبها إلى التعرض لهذه العقوبة التي اعتبروها رادعة وقاسية في نفس الوقت، داعين كذلك إلى تكثيف وزارة الداخلية حملات التوعية وإصدار منشورات ومطويات تعرّف أفراد المجتمع بالسلوكيات الخاطئة التي تعرّضهم للعقوبة.
