Washington: Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani met yesterday with the CEO of The Chernin Group, Peter Chernin, at the residence of H H the Emir in Washington.
They reviewed bilateral cooperation and the means to enhance them. The meeting was attended by a number of their excellencies members of the official delegation accompanying H H the Emir. Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani also met with Co-Executive Chairman of The Carlyle Group and the Chairman of the Kennedy Center, David Mark Rubenstein, at the residence of H H the Emir in Washington.
They reviewed bilateral cooperation and the means to enhance it, in addition to discussing a range of issues of joint interest. The meeting was attended by a number of their excellencies members of the official delegation accompanying H H the Emir.
H H the Emir also met with Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, Mac Thornberry and its members including Joe Wilson, Mike Conaway, Joe Courtney, Austin Scott, Jim Langevin, Jim Banks, Vicky Hartzler, Don Bacon, Ralph Abraham, at the US Congress in Washington. The meeting was attended by members of the official accompanying delegation. They reviewed bilateral cooperation in the defense, military, and security fields, and the means to enhance them.
The representatives expressed to H H the Emir their thanks to Qatar for hosting Al Udeid Airbase, and their appreciation to the role the two countries play through the military air base in countering terrorism in the region. H H the Emir also met with members of the Congressional Black Caucus and they are Cedric Richmond, Hank Johnson, Sheila Jackson Lee, Al Green, Bonnie Watson Coleman, Maxine Waters, Barbara Lee, Joyce Beatty, Bennie Thompson, at the residence.
They also discussed the latest developments in the Middle-East, particularly the GCC crisis and the representatives’ position that calls for resolving it through dialogue in a commitment to the unity of the GCC. They also expressed their appreciation to the way Qatar handled the crisis. They also expressed their appreciation to the role Qatar plays in supporting the Palestinian cause and the assistance the country provides to the people of besieged Gaza. Emir leaves Washington
Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani left yesterday Washington DC after concluding a one-week official visit to the US in which His Highness was accompanied by an official delegation, and a number of businessmen.
H H the Emir sent a message to President of the United States Donald Trump and the Vice-President Mike Pence thanking them for the reception H H the Emir and the accompanying delegation were awarded on their visit, in which they discussed a range of issues of joint interest that will contribute to enhancing strategic relations in all fields to the benefit of the two peoples.
