Qatar Fund for Development Signs MoU with Ashghal 0 32

  • Qatar Fund for Development signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’, stating that the Public Works Authority will provide technical support related to infrastructure projects that Qatar Fund for Development is financing in different countries. Through the MoU, both parties will coordinate to exchange expertise to contribute to the implementation of these projects more efficiently and with a higher quality.
  • The MoU was signed by, H.E. Mr. Khalifa bin Jassim Al Kuwari, the Director – General of Qatar Fund for Development, and H.E. Dr. Eng. Saad bin Ahmad Al Muhannadi, President of the Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’ during a ceremony held at Ashghal’s building on Tuesday 26 December 2017.
  • At the beginning of the ceremony, H.E. Dr. Eng. Saad bin Ahmad Al Muhannadi gave a speech to express his happiness with this cooperation, and said “It is our honour in the Public Works Authority to provide all the support for the great mission Qatar Fund for Development is doing through the implementation of infrastructure projects in the countries the Fund cooperate with. We are also glad to provide all available expertise at Ashghal to contribute to achieving the mission of the Fund to implement these projects with the best quality and efficiency.”
  • From his side, H.E. Mr. Khalifa bin Jassim Al Kuwari, Director – General of Qatar Fund for Development said “signing this memorandum comes within the framework of joint and close cooperation between the Fund and the different government entities, including the Public Works Authority, which contributes to achieve the Fund’s development objectives, as part of Qatar’s commitment towards sisterly and friendly countries to implement different projects, that contribute directly to the development of these countries.” He also stated that the memorandum being signed today between Qatar Fund for Development and the Public Works Authority will include important development projects in the fields of infrastructure, buildings, and project management. H.E. added “we are glad to announce today the beginning of implementing this memorandum through cooperation between Qatar Fund for Development and the Public Works Authority in developing infrastructure in Somalia, through the preparation of technical designs for the 90 km long Mogadishu – Jawhar Road and the 30 km long Mogadishu – Afgoye Road, which are very important projects that will enable the Somalian people to build the infrastructure systems in the country, contributing directly to moving the economy and achieving sustainable development. We look for more cooperation and partnership in the future between Qatar Fund for Development and the Public Works Authority in the field of infrastructure and buildings in many developing countries, to strengthen Qatar’s role in development on the regional and international levels.”

 

أكد سعادة الدكتور المهندس سعد بن أحمد المهندي رئيس هيئة الأشغال العامة “أشغال” أنه تم رصد

21.8 مليار ريال قطري لتنفيذ مشاريع الهيئة خلال عام 2018، بما يشمل تنفيذ مشاريع طرق سريعة بقيمة 11.08 مليار ريال، ومشاريع البنية التحتية والطرق المحلية بقيمة 8.88 مليار ريال، بالإضافة إلى 1,84 مليار ريال قطري لمشاريع محطات الصرف الصحي والأصول ..
وأوضح سعادته أن “أشغال” أنجزت خلال عام 2017 وحده أضعاف ما تم إنجازه خلال السنوات الأربع السابقة (2013 2016) في جميع قطاعات العمل، وأن أكثر من 60 بالمائة مما تحقق في عام 2017 تم إنجازه في الفترة التي أعقبت شهر يونيو الماضي، مضيفا بأنه في عام 2018 سيكون قد تم الانتهاء من تنفيذ 90 بالمائة من المشاريع المرتبطة بإقامة كأس العالم 2022 ..
وأشار إلى أن أشغال ستبدأ في عام 2018 تنفيذ 19 مشروعا للبنية التحتية موزعة على 12 منطقة لخدمة 15 ألفا و108 قطع أرضية، منها ألف و800 قسيمة ضمن مناطق أراضي المواطنين الجديدة، كما ستنتهي الهيئة في عام 2018 من إنجاز 11 مشروعا للبنية التحتية موزعة على 11 منطقة تخدم 5 آلاف و644 قطعة أرض من بينها 837 قسيمة ضمن مناطق أراضي المواطنين الجديدة.
