Changing Three R/As on Wadi Al Salmiya St. in Al Kharaitiyat into Two Signalized Junctions
تحويل ثلاث دوارات بشارع وادي السلمية بالخريطيات إلى تقاطعين بإشارات ضوئية
The Public Works Authority, ‘Ashghal’, will recreate three roundabouts into two signal-controlled intersections on Wadi Al Salmiya Street which connects Al Kharaityat Interchange with Al Rufaa Street in Al Kharaitiyat Area.
Ashghal states that there will be two signalized junctions replacing two roundabouts, one to link Zikreet Street with Wadi Al Salmiya Street and another to tie Gharrafat Al Rayyan Street with Wadi Al Salmiya Street. Meanwhile, the third roundabout on Wadi Al Salmiya connecting Wadi Al Mashreb Street and Barqa Al Hamil Street will be changed into a T-Junction.
The new reconstruction will provide some expansions, increasing the number of lanes at the new intersections from two into three.
The fresh revamp will largely improve traffic leading to and from Al Shamal Road, notably Al Kharaitiyat Interchange, Al Kharaitiyat Area and local approaches such as Zikreet Street and Gharrafat Al Rayyan towards Al Rufaa Street and Dukhan Road. Also, the upgrade will boost traffic to areas of Bani Hajer, Al Wajba and Al Rayyan besides the key close facilities, including Mall of Qatar and Celebration Complex.
To facilitate the works, a diversion will be in place on Wadi Al Salmiya Street on dual carriageways as the vehicle movement will be shifted onto a 1500-metre long parallel route comprising three roundabouts and two lanes in each direction, as shown on the attached map. The new layout will be in effect on Friday 16 March 2018 and last till 30 September 2018.
New signage will be installed by Ashghal, requesting the road users follow the speed limit and abide by the new traffic signs for their safety.
تعلن هيئة الأشغال العامة “أشغال” عن إزالة ثلاث دوارات بشارع وادي السلمية الذي يربط تقاطع الخريطيات بشارع الرفاع وإقامة تقاطعين بديلين بإشارات ضوئية.
وتشير “أشغال” إلى أنه سيتم تحويل الدوار الذي يصل شارع زكريت بشارع وادي السلمية إلى إشارة ضوئية وكذلك الدوار الذي يربط شارع غرافة الريان بشارع وادي السلمية، بينما سيتم إزالة الدوار الذي يصل بين شارع وادي المشرب وبرقا الهامل .
وتتضمن الإنشاءات الجديدة أعمال توسعة بشارع وادي السلمية حيث سيتم زيادة عدد المسارات من مسارين إلى ثلاث مسارات عند الإشارات الجديدة.
وستعمل التغييرات الجديدة على تحقيق انسيابية مرورية كبيرة أمام حركة السيارات القادمة من وإلى طريق الشمال وتقاطع الخريطيات ومنطقة الخريطيات والشوارع المحلية المحيطة مثل شارع زكريت وشارع غرافة الريان وصولا لشارع الرفاع وطريق دخان، هذا إلى جانب سهولة الوصول إلى مناطق بني هاجر والوجبة والريان فضلا عن المرافق القريبة مثل مجمع الاحتفالات وقطر مول.
ولإتاحة المجال أمام تنفيذ تلك الأعمال، سيتم تحويل الحركة المرورية بشارع وادي السلمية في كلا الاتجاهين يوم الجمعة 16 مارس 2018 حتى 30 سبتمبر 2018، حيث سيتم نقل حركة السيارات إلى طريق آخر مواز بطول 1500 متر يتألف من ثلاث دورات ومسارين في كل اتجاه، كما هو موضح في الخريطة المرفقة.
وستقوم “أشغال” بوضع الإرشادات واللوحات المرورية اللازمة لتنبيه السائقين، مشددة على ضرورة التزام مستخدمي الطريق بالسرعات المقررة واتباع اللافتات لضمان سلامتهم.
